How do you think Apex should be played?

Another question because I see some disagreement over this in quite a few comment sections on the internet.

To me, I think the game is geared towards aggressive play, and placement is a reward for surviving while actively engaging in gun fights and eliminating teams. Most abilities compliments this. The movement speed compliments this.  All of the game's trailers show it as well. We have badges that reward high kills and high damage. Survival can be manipulated, at least in pubs, hence why I consider it a meaningless statistic on it's own.

What are your opinions on the "correct" way to play Apex?

    @reconzero You see that's just it, bad players can have high or decent win rates. I can refer to myself here back in season 3. I was terrible, I didn't get many kills per match or do too much damage but I was winning, at a rate higher than players who were better than me. With my main I was in the top 5% with wins. This can also be due to getting matched with better teammates who help carry the team to the win often? I don't know. I've seen some of my friends, who struggle in my lobbies also have decent success with getting wins. I only really noticed the lobbies becoming consistently more difficult once I got better at killing people, which took a lot of deliberate practice, and win rates dropped off a cliff when that happened. YMMV

    Well, to me aim and shooting isn't everything, but I think it's the most important, it is a shooter after all. All I meant by that is that we really can't compare stats across the board to one another without considering where someone falls on the skill ladder and who they are facing. Once you move up you will struggle to maintain what you had but it doesn't mean that you are bad or that you've failed. And yes, I do believe the system is flawed, because it seems that it struggles to find a middle ground. Matches end up being way too easy or way too hard, for me at least.

    @XxColdFangxX Like others have said there's not really a right or wrong way per se but I believe it is important to find people with similar play styles when playing solo or it can be a very frustrating experience. Some play to win, some ply for kills. Some are more aggressive while others more reserved. You have to find people w/ similar styles or learn how to compromise or else your gaming experience is soured.

    Agreed. Hot or cold. Always. Never just warm.

    "Once you move up you will struggle to maintain what you had but it doesn't mean that you are bad or that you've failed."

    Also agreed. But for me the game becomes subjectively less fun the grindier it gets, even if I am getting objectively better. I know what you're thinking. "Improvement is overrated" is a lazy man's argument. Guilty as charged.

    I'm not exactly sure which one of my comments your posting from, but I've already stated that before that there isn't a right or wrong way to play.
    As for finding people of similar play style..play style is far different from experience.
    The gaming experience is soured wether I find someone with similar style or not because the lobbies are filled with people I can not compete with. That's not something play style can fix.
    Maybe if I spent more time than I do now on the game, I'd learn more, gain more experience, but until apex get some of its major issues under better control, I'm not interested in that aggravation.
    And I don't know about you, but I don't consider smurfing to be a play style.

    @XxColdFangxXI'm late to the party so I didn't wade through the whole thread yet 😂! I was just giving my take on the original post. I rarely look at who kills me so I don't know how many smurfs or higher skilled players are in my lobbies.

    @Lord_Scorpion34 All good.
    I've started paying more attention to the people I see in the matches, mainly in arenas. I don't spend a lot of time in br. I decided to play a couple of arena games after a nice break and pretty much 3 out of the 5 matches I did have a lvl 5 or so smurf that did just as much damage as the guy with a 4k badge on his team.(Was in pubs)
