How do you use the node finder?

I picked the node finder up during the match, and I wasn't sure what to do. Are you supposed to follow the arrow or is there a place on the map you have to take it to? Also, do you have to have crypto for it to work since he is mentioned in the description?

You can be any legend you like, just equip the tracker after landing and follow the arrows, it will always be within 100m. And don't forget that it spawns a loot tick after downloading

Note it also seems that it's 100 meters from where you activate it not where you land.
So, if you land, fight, survive, you can then do it as part of your rotation. Spot will be the same for each member looks like (as long as you land about the same area), but each member can spawn own loot tick.
I have been no filling duos, dropping away from everyone, finding the node, leaving match, repeat, so I don't have to screw with people's matches that way.

This should have been a solo drop into the map activity, rather than done in normal match gameplay. So many people running off to do this in Trios, cause, you know, it wasn't bad enough before...

I also have wondered if it messed up matches when people do this. I have been doing it on no fill duos too, but I can imagine if randoms die doing this in trios it will upset a lot of players. It does seem weird they would choose to do it this way.

@AymCTL I have also noticed that if you wait until you are geared up some, it seems to elevate the tier of stuff from the loot tick.

Forgot to no fill last night on a match, dropped with a group that actually listened to me and dropped NEXT to hot zone, geared up, and then rotated in, we survived, won 2 fights, then did our loot tick search and I got a Gold Peacekeeper while another got a Gold Volt. All 3 of us pulled gold armor.

So, if you can rotate smart and don't NEED the survival slots, and want to risk waiting and maybe getting killed first, it could be a good strat to wait to pull these nodes until maybe 3rd ring.

I still prefer to grab them with no fill and just not harass people's matches. Again, they totally could have had this be a PvE solo instance of the map.

(Did win 2 matches on PS4 back to back last night, where I actually was able to contribute to the wins. That was weird.)

Okay, I'll be that cranky old man whose only experience with this stupid piece of equipment is that it annoys the hell out of me by making it take longer to pick up the mobile jump tower I actually want and have a use for. Even after reading this thread I STILL do not know what a node finder is or what it does. What is a node? Why do I need to find one? Will it get me an aimbot at long last????
