How is the LP calculated?

I hope I didn't misunderstand how the new rank system works. For kill points, you should get at least some LP for each kill or assist, the hidden MMR only affect the bonus part, right?

But how am I often not getting any LP for kill or assist?(e.g. I got 3rd place in one game with 2 kills, and only got +150) Does it mean my MMR is so much higher than my opponents that the system thinks I should not be rewarded? Or is this a bug? At the same time, my teammate sometimes got some LP when getting 0 kill/assist, while we(his teammate) did all the killing?

We are so confused by the system.

  • @shulauplayz i want to know also , i get 8 kills 4 assists win the match and still get 450 only in gold lobbies.
    after that i stopped stressing about getting kills
  • @shulauplayz I mentioned this in another thread but the current system just does not encourage fighting unless it’s the last 3 squads.

    It SO doesn’t encourage fighting, that it’s going to get to a point where teams intentionally don’t shoot each other the majority of the game— like an unspoken agreement type thing.

    I know some people enjoy this, but it’s not for me personally. BR has a huge survival dimension to it, but the B should still stand for “Battle”. Gun skills and aggressive play needs to be rewarded alongside survival.

    I am fine with whatever playstyle. A rank mode like pubs? Fine. An ALGS simulator? Fine.

    But the problem is that being rewarded for absolutely nothing for kills is too much. This means I can at most get around 200LP per game. Assuming one match takes 20 mins, and I win every single game, it would take me at least 7 hours to go up one rank. This is way too time-consuming and frankly, boring.

    I have no idea what will trigger getting 0LP for kills, but I am sure this happened when I die as the 19th and also when I die as the 3rd, so placement is likely not part of the algorithm. That is why at this point, I am not even sure if this is a bug or not. I planned to put this thread under bug report, but I put it here at the end just in case this is intended.
