    How to lose at Apex:

Step 1: Hot drop every game.

Step 2: Push every fight even the bad ones.

Step 3: Get 3-6 kills by performing step 1 and 2 repetitively (look at how good I am) and getting third partied and ending in 16 place (I lost another rnd of Pubs, or minus RP in Ranked).

Step 4: Continue to ignore the results of Steps 1-3 and not adapting a new playstyle.

Find the balance @The65thCavalry Smart aggressive play is the way to go, third parting weak teams is smart, playing for position is smart, playing for placement is smart.

The way I see it weather you win or lose in game does not matter that much as long as you are having fun playing it you have already won, however winning in game is just that much more enjoyable.

  • @The65thCavalry I'm getting the sense that maybe you have some basic misconception about the object of battle royale. Most kills =/= win. Last kill = win.
  • 100% spot on.

Go play a ranked game, everyone is hiding until the end now.

Ranked is completely and utterly ruined.

@Asmodeus566 Today, literally watch a Bloodhound in my team rush into a building that was secured with Rampart Walls and Caustic traps. Literally no planning, no strat on how to handle them. I voted to wait for the circle to close and force them to move, buuuuut no. He got dropped so fast, the bang followed and died just as fast. I just simply quit the match at that point.

    That sucks.

I had the opposite last night in one game. Performing an edge rotation and team sees another team in a building and starts to take the fight, the team in the building had Rampart walls etc along with high-ground. Our LL gets knocked and our valk saves her I am pinging lets get away (and saying the same over the mic) while providing cover fire for my team to get out. We rotate out and make it to a better position. the others start using their Mics and we TP a team and defend against a 3p and 4P against us make it to the final ring and just barley do not get the win. It was a great game where all it takes is one player identifying a bad fight and the others to listen using comms was great. We ended up in second place with 11 team kills 5 for valk 4 for me and two for LL we did not skulk and hide we played smart by ditching a losing fight that would have put us at 12th place with 0 kills.

    Turning lemons into lemonade.

@DankToliet Oof that’s so sad. What’s worse is that he’s a BH who can literally see all the walls and traps inside the building.
  • @The65thCavalryTbh, I don't see this kind of behavior in Plat lobbies, the not fighting part, everyone is fighting, everyone is shooting, everyone is getting kills.

Players are having the hardest time adapting to this rank season because they just can't differentiate a smart engagement from a bad one, and getting punished for bad decisions.

If i'm getting 3-4 kills early game, of course I'm going to be hugging beacons for the remainder of the game until top 5, it's just the smart thing to do if you want to rank up, and teammates in Plat seem to be fine with that mentality. If your confident about your one on one fights, there's no reason whatsoever to "never fight'.
