- @pastaclown I think the saddest thing is that the dev team duped everyone into thinking that Apex was going to be different. I remember shortly after release they talked about how everyone on the dev team had to play the game for at least an hour a day and they were really looking to see how the game was playing.
At this point it's impossible to believe any of them have played in months and have been able to go home and look themselves in the mirror as they shove out another "event" that amounts to 24 recolored skins for $7,00 a piece. It's shameful. But they do have the advantage of the fact that most other FPS games in 2021 are also shameless, trashy cash grabs that suck players in hoping they will find a different experience.
In fairness to Respawn, if you go to other boards for games like COD and Overwatch, people are complaining about those too. Dev teams run these games into the ground by going completely internal and refusing to communicate with the community. And then shrouding it in the guise of claiming that the community is "too toxic" to interact with because some fat kid told them how bad they were and they got sad.
The worst thing though is that I've been playing competitive FPS shooters for 18 or so years now and I have never, ever seen issues like I've seen in Apex. Even in older shooters, you might get the occasional no reg or weird net code thing where you got shot around a wall, but it's become an every game thing in Apex.
TD;DR, Apex season 8 is an absolute disaster with a laundry list of issues, but Respawn is doing an awful job just like most other FPS dev teams.
