"I Got Banned After Responding to 2 Toxic Randoms"
Hello everyone, I recently received a permanent ban on my Apex Legends account due to a message I sent in chat. I've been playing since 2019, and this account has six years of progress, making this situation very difficult for me. What happened: I was in a match when a player mentioned my name in chat. I responded with "y" (as in "yes?"), and they replied with "shut up." Another player joined in, saying "same," mocking me. In frustration, I made the mistake of responding with "unalive yourself" I understand that my response was inappropriate, and I sincerely regret my words. However, I was being provoked, and it was a heat-of-the-moment mistake. What I’ve done so far: I apologized to EA Support and acknowledged my mistake. I initially submitted an appeal, but it was declined with a generic response. I am now submitting a more detailed appeal, hoping for a fair review. I requested a temporary suspension instead of a permanent ban. I provided a video clip showing that I was being provoked before my message. Why this feels unfair: I completely understand the need to punish toxic behavior, but I’ve seen players using racist or offensive language on voice chat without consequences. Meanwhile, I made one mistake in chat, and my account was banned permanently. I don’t expect an immediate unban, but I believe a temporary suspension (1 month or even 1 year) would be a fairer punishment rather than losing my entire account forever. Has anyone faced a similar situation or had success appealing a permanent ban? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for reading.
Hey folks,
Locking the thread down here as this has derailed a bit.
Harassment or inappropriate language of any kind is not ok, regardless of who started it. Don't continue it.
If you're being harassed or baited, report and ignore them so your own account isn't at risk by replying inappropriately.
We do not permaban accounts on a first offense unless for cheating or some other extremely egregious behavior. Feel free to DM me if you'd like Not_Xhenos, as it seems you're posting from a different account. While we can't overturn or remove bans via the forums, I'm happy to take a look and see if there's anything else going on with the account in question, though we certainly would not consider telling someone to kill themselves a "low-level offense".
