Good question!
The static badge is awarded when you get two different ranked between the two ranked splits
Example: Split one bronze; split two: Silver
You get the animated badge when you got the same rank twice across both splits.
Example: Split one Diamond; split two: Diamond
For this season we don't know anything about the badge rewards yet.
Will they be animated or not, time will tell.
Thanks for your response! It would be great if the official could provide a more detailed explanation regarding the display of badges.
But it looks like we'll have to wait a while until the end of the season.
Guess we'll just have to patiently wait.
