@HamoHitman wrote:@full951 I think we actually agree on the meat of my point here. I am simply trying to say that kbm and controller should NOT be in the same lobby...
You wanna play kbm but the devs don't support it? I'm sorry but you should be banned. If the devs had wanted it to be kbm compatible it would be.
And I still feel it's cheating and hold the fact that you will NEVER see a kbm player at an Xbox tournament as pretty solid proof.
Last thought here...for a game like apex there is really no reason why you need a xim. I can't imagine that a household would have an Xbox and the funds for a xim but not have a PC capable of running a free to play game. "But my friends all have xbox"...they all use controllers too...wanna play with them you should like LIKE them
well, it's not up to you or me if anyone gets banned for using mouse and keyboard. it's up to the devs really. and as you say, they have all the help in the world from Microsoft.. and no one ever has been banned. so. . I'm gonna go with the judgements of devs wether or not it's cheating.
I'd be really impressed if you can prove to me the devs of any game ever have or even have the intention of banning or blocking emulators. we've only seen blocking and separated lobbies of native support. that's it.
@HamoHitman wrote:.... Otherwise I might as well bind wasd to a left foot joystick jump to a right pedal and just use qwe
Asd. Asd primary binds since I "have arthritis" adding two more control devices on two more limbs shouldn't be a problem. Even though this would be an even greater mechanical advantage of kbm
yes, this is absolutely doable with first and third party controllers and is available to you and anyone with or without arthritis. no dev or console maker has any problem with that even if you throw a mouse in the mix. I 100% guarantee it

"We know our usage numbers and what games people are playing with their XIM APEX devices. Compared to the numbers of gamers on Apex Legends -- just like PUBG -- even if all XIM gamers were playing this one game, it would account for less than a fraction of a percent. It's ridiculous to see that, but, totally consistent with how gamers in these community think. That is they can't take blame for losing -- it must have been because someone else has some sort of advantage over them."
interpret it however you'd like.

I would ask how he came to that percentage. was he making a ratio of average concurrent players over a week? a day? since launch? or peak numbers or is he going of total downloads? 50 million is a big number but that's not how many are playing all at once.

"We have have anonymous telemetry that's captured for XIM APEX. However, if you were to assume every XIM gamer was playing Apex Legends, it would still be noise compared to the millions that play the game"
he then lists a link we can't post here.
that's the thing people who don't know just assume. They automatically think whichever game they're playing EVERY Xim user is playing that game, and even then how do you know they're using mk.
I saw a video of a guy playing rainbow 6 with a Wii remote and a playstation move on Xbox.

+1
Actually they use a lower sensitivity to gain aim assist. As if you go above 7 or 8 you wont have any aim assist
I have the apex xim. It can’t be adjusted pass the controller input limits. Don’t see how it’s cheating if you are limited to what a controller can do.
- Pretty sure xbox and ps4 both have kb+m support for their platforms now. Just something we are going to have to get used to. Adapt or improvise.

@BA2VGT wrote:How can you not see that native support would destroy the game? You have zero chance with a controller vs native M&K. I use mouse on PC...if it handled like it does on PC on the PS4 I woukd faceroll every match vs controller users.
Faster to turn, faster to stop, easier to slide/strafe and shoot. More accurate and faster on target. Just no competition.
PC users buy console to get away from the unlevel hack fest that is PC...then immediately want to unlevel the field. No thanks.
wow, another pc gamer
well, if it was exactly the same on console as on pc, then you would be in luck. you could transition to a hack free environment and only sacrifice ultimate pc visuals while maintaining your gaming perifials and performance.
that's just the reality of the situation. MnK is better for this game and many other shooters. that's why console manufacturers are laying the grounds for it.i don't know if you noticed but shooters are bread and butteriin the console space. delivering the best possible shooter experience is what they are going for and as everyone keeps saying, playing with a mouse and keyboard is better than using a controller
plus if you come to console, in the next few years you will see games that were previously exclusive to pc come to console thanks to native mouse and keyboard support.
I'm gonna give you a look into the future of console gaming. I have a mild clairvoyant sight to these things: it isn't gonna be the shooters that put a mouse and keyboard in front of millions of console gamers, it's gonna be the RTS and MMO's. when that happens, good luck keeping MnK out of your console shooters my pc gaming friend. unfortunately any game already in development and coming soon likely won't have the native support lest Uber popular like fortnite. do you know of any game that's "fortnite popular"?
You state that FPS is the bread and butter of console gaming (not sure that's even true) and then state it needs K&M because it's so superior...then please explain why currently the bread and butter is working? How is it if so many are crying out for this that literally every AAA paid shooter game (cod, bf, etc) console dominates the sales? It's already selling, why is it so broken?
I play both PC and PS4. There is no skill based matchmaking etc that will make this work, it would never ever be even. And you cannot have cross play etc without letting the PC cheaters in. It doesn't work that way .
This supposed move to M&K you are are seeing from your time machine has been predicted for years..just like the mmorpg/rts takeover, which is totally a dieing section of gaming anyway, what's the last great selling RTS? Warcraft at what, 10 years old? RTS do not sell. MMORPG doesn't sell all that well (new games) and I don't see the last successfully running one (wow) going console anytime soon. Other than wow you have what, STO and little else?
There is no great call from current console customers to get M&K. There is no huge untapped market that will switch to console if it happens. There is no way to implement it fairly without loosing most of your base unless you separate the user base into two groups, controller and mouse, which is bad (bf went to live service just to prevent that).
Just learn to use a controller. Is it harder? Yes. But it's EVEN. What difference does it make if Nascar runs races with restrictor plates so long as everyone had one?
