I have played this game since the beginning. It is now to the point where I only play to complete the premium season pass and I am done for the season. Why, because of the cheaters, toxicity of the game and quitters. This by the way is at an all-time high in season 16.Respawn developers recently discussed the problems in a recent interview. They called out toxicity as a specific problem along with Apex Legends cheating itself. . Toxicity was called out as often stemming from players having to share their lobbies with brazen cheats. When players cheat, it can lead to increased toxicity perceived in the game as players react poorly. When you’re breaking the rules and others aren’t, it’s easy to get a bit toxic in dealing with other players.Respawn said they are going to be stepping up their Apex Legends ant-cheating, but also their efforts on toxicity. Yet and I say Yet the new Apex Legends anti-cheating measures haven’t been explained in great detail and the Devs have said it’s going to be a focus to get back on top of the problem. It looks like the anti-cheating system will be changing again but the question is "when" as the Devs never said.And one finally note for those that don't know this.Apex Legends has issues with cheats, smurfs, and toxicity in pubs. But most notably it’s even a problem in Apex Leagues Rank play.Thoughts welcome.

@OneDominatorI still have lots of fun playing this game. I'm not on PC tho so its less ridiculous cheating. I have played less this season due to the BR map rotation but mixtape has kept me going. On days I don't feel like playing mixtape I play other games.

If you can find an fps with a big audience that isn't limping through all the cheating and toxicity then please post the name of that game because I'd sure like to take a look at it.And yet you didn't call out the matchmaking, something the developer can actually address.

@OneDominator If you can stand the matchmaking or have a team of 3 to play with, then it has its moments. Unfortunately, the matchmaking makes it really horrible otherwise. You just need to be in the right frame of mind to enjoy it though.

Well, they can't simply release information about the anticheat, any information released can be used against them.
Games will sadly enough always suffer from many problems, severity depending on anything ranging from the infrastructure of the game or the size of the playerbase.
I'd say that the game is fine for casual play, though it's not something that players should grind.
Actually, I'd say that no game should be grinded honestly.
It's best to have a diverse set of games to choose from, that way you don't get stuck with one game and constantly have to suffer from the faults it has.

@reconzero Deep rock galactic supposedly has little to no toxicity, and cheating isn’t a big issue. Have not played this game due to it not being free, but I hear great things!

Boy, do I live under a rock. I never heard of it but now that I have I'm very curious to check it out. The reason it has little to no cheating, however, is very simply because it isn't player vs. player. There are so many reasons to love PvE games, but this is a huge one on the list. Matchmaking problems: gone. Ranking systems and all the griping and chest beating that goes with them: gone. Cheating: gone, or at least doesn't matter since it doesn't affect other players. Toxicity: gone, I assume.

Why, oh why, did Respawn cancel the Apex PvE game they were working on???

Because apparently they don't want this Type 5's disposable income. I was NEVER going to spend on a free-to-play PvP game where I was the product. I bought Titanfall 2. I would buy Titanfall 3 if it had a story campaign and cooperative multiplayer.
