@MandatoryIDtagUnfortunately, this is not possible, because ping can be different from match to match and delay needs to be checked for longer than a couple of seconds to get a realistic average. I've had games where ping started as 40-50ms but increased to 90-100ms and I really felt the difference(got shot behind cover, had no chance to win some 1v1s because enemy hits registered way before mine, etc.). Another thing, even with a good average ping, things go south fast when server is burdened or there's a lag spike.
About ISPs, doesn't matter how good they are, they are not optimally tuned for gaming. They need to be inexpensive, stable and get as many clients as possible. It's more about quantity rather than quality. And it's normal, 3 clients that just browse, watch videos and shop online don't care about 100ms + ping or routing and pay 3 times as much as one gamer, that needs large bandwidth, higher end hardware and optimal routing to ensure a steady connection with the lowest possible ping. The same can be said about the servers in the public cloud.

@DoYaSeeMe Doesn't CoD use a ping derived MM system? I've watched the matchmaking there and it starts at 13m/s and expands the longer the lobby population takes. You're far more educated than myself on these matters but yeah. 😛
@MassiveVernon In some cases it can't be helped, Africa example doesn't even have a data centre as far as i'm aware.
Its an infrastructure issue, there is plans to build a number of data centres in areas of the world sorely lacking but most of the completion dates are between 2022-2025 lol. ☹️
- 5 years ago@MandatoryIDtag Fair play, that sucks . Well then - brand new refreshing idea that’s never been suggested and EA will definitely implement- they could always just spend some of the millions they’ve earned from this game on upgrading the existing infrastructure to make it more playable for everyone everywhere ! Or just idk make a new heirloom event instead .

@MassiveVernon oh you are funny.
Cosmetic event it is!
- 5 years ago@MandatoryIDtag Actually ping is factored when looking for a match, you're always placed into the closest possible game(not sure if to the data center you're connected to or to you), the other condition being that it's within your skill bracket. But this is a game with many concurrent players, there's a high chance that you don't catch a seat on the closest server beause it's completely booked (that's why we see so many "server full" errors at the start of new seasons).

@DoYaSeeMe I see, I would love to know what lobbies its actually chucking me into then, as I generally run into a player who can shoot me around corners or cover literally every game.
Playing from the London data centre I would've thought logically it would be Amsterdam and then frankfurt after that depending on capacity.
......hmmm maybe this is the issue actually....as a lot of ZA players connect to these servers. >.>
