To answer your question: it might be. If what people are saying is true the average KD is less than one, then that says enough. Even if it's between 1-1.5 its really low imo...
The thing is, the game is build around higher than normal mobility but it rewards slower pace for some reason... Just look at ranked. It's like respawn doesnt know what direction they want to go... And it shows. But mostly you just get teammates that suck...
@pastaclown I concur, at every facet of the game ppl need to know what they're doing or you're already at a possible disadvantage... You're example of looting hits the spot like a shooter has to hit its mark but sadly in this game that rarely seems to happen...
But I don't necessarily think it's too hard for players but it's the inability or lack of wanting to learn it seems as most of the time you see a lvl 70+ making mistakes that they shouldn't... Like having the high ground but leaving it to attack the enemy below... Or rushing alone in a 3 man team...
I think most ppl who play shooters just want blitz games. I think this is why CoD is so popular. It doesnt require thinking. Just (fast) reflexes, some precision and alot of adrenaline to be average...
@Koochi-QI was a CoD guy so I can relate on what you’re saying. It definitely requires less thinking and typically encounters do boil down to reaction time and instincts, which is why I loved the fast pace nature of the Black ops series.
I consider myself a decent player especially since I’m essentially an exclusively solo player. KD sits at about a 2.60 this season and about a 2.35 overall more or less...With the game expanding more, it’s ruining my experience simply because team mates cant keep up because there’s just too much to pick up for the average gamer and the game requires a ton of learned skills and muscle memory that people won’t put the time into learning.
The more I’ve played Apex this season, the more it’s been a struggle for me. The game appears to have almost completely alienated the solo player but I’ve come to the conclusion that SBMM isn’t the problem. I think it’s the easy excuse to make because no one wants to accept the reality that this isn’t the easiest game to pick up and play. There are so many underrated skills in this game that go beyond aiming. Like you mentioned with “Looting”. It amazes me how slow people loot. It’s by far one of the most important skills in the game. Then other decisions like having 3 or 4 squads left and taking a level 1 evo shield at that point over a purple or hell even a blue regular shield. Things like that have nothing to do with SBMM.
Like I said, I use to be one of those people crying about SBMM. But the bigger issue is that Apex Legends isn’t built for the average gamer. It’s a game that is extremely unforgiving for people that don’t put the time in to it...
