Late Night Matchmaking Sucks

I can't play this game late at night. Me and my girlfriend just wanted to stay up late and have some fun. But after like 12 or 1 am all of the matches were just filled with tons of ttvs and 4k badges and some cheaters too. Mixtape btw. I'm guessing it's because they're the only type of player up that late. But still, if this game is going to have SBMM, then do it all the way. Don't stick me in a game where I get 1 kill and they get 18. 10 games in a row. It's not fun man https://xender.vip/ . I'll wait 30 minutes for a game if they're on the same level as me.

  • one thing we learned about complaining the MM is : if they touch it , they make it worse ... thats a fact and happend numerous times.
The first version of the MM seemed to be okish as it was the original developers (which meanwhile are all gone from Respawn, should tell quite a lot) version without too much corporate interference.
Maybe you get yourself an EA creator account , wouldnt make me wonder if those MM issues magically disappear.
As Samy Duc told in the infamous blogpost : MM also depends on some unspecified variables, besides your MMR they didnt want to share with us ...
And about the waiting time ... frequent flyers would gladly wait up to some minutes, but new player wont. thats why they need to deal you a match within around 30 seconds  ... which is one of the factors you get such unbalanced games.

I remeber the player counter at the lobby screen telling you 200-300+ players in queue in the oldest versions of the MM taking up to some minutes to prepare you a game, now the game starts when that counter hits 60 in the span of around 30 -60 seconds...
They take the next 60 players in queue and then they match whats left, no wonder you end up with 3 stacks as opponents and you get the lvl 35s as mates

  • From what I understand, Respawn wants players to be able to quickly find a game, so I don't think they're going to make matchmaking take much longer to achieve it.

It's important to keep in mind that they need to cater to many different players.

You want lower queue times so you can have matches closer to your skill level, but what if other players don't want that?

Some players just want to quickly get into a game, even if lobbies contain a lot of different skilled players.

To completely fill up a lobby in a low-populated region late at night can take quite some time from what I understand, so it might not be 30 minutes we're looking at.

Though it's possible to connect to a different datacentre, so you can play in a region that's more populated than your own.

So it might be worth to check that out, as it'll definitely give you better skill-matched matches, at the cost of a bit more latency.
