Just looking for some clarity on how the penalty would apply.I leave a game when downed for the following reasons:1. My teammate jumped solo and is on the other side of the map.2. My teammate is looting with no interest of getting my banner.3. My teammate is running in the opposite direction with no interest in getting my banner.4. My teammate is trying to punch my other teammate.5. My teammate pinged an enemy got into a fight, I engage, get them out of trouble, get out gunned because my teammate is now a pacifist and hiding in a bush.6. My teammate is Dak from Empire Strikes Back and thinks he can take on the Empire all by himself. Rather than finish the fight he has left two teammates and gone looking for further trouble.7. My teammate is shooting me whilst I am downed, thinking that I am the enemy.8. My teammate is crouched next to me, trying to hold my hand, whilst I bleed out. Then heads towards the three team scrap with my banner, with no shields and a shot from death......Though he gets an invite on the next round for sheer lunacy/bravery!Would we get penalised for these early exits?

Im personally against leaver penalty, sure it sucks to have to que into another game and go agane.But leaver penalty is going to be a mound of food for trolling, ergo, you will have the teammate who chucks a grenade in front of himself, and then sits on it.The teammate who intentionally get himself, and you killed in order to quit matches.Teammates who refuse to revive you so they can loot your armor and that lvl3 magazine after you bled out, knowing you are not free to just leave the game.And scores upon scores of other toxic behavior I came across which led me to just leave.

So are we expected to spectate? That is a nonsense. My honest opinion is that there is acceptable times for players to quit out.If the player is not within 250m then you should be allowed to quit without penalty.

In the 'leaver's penalty' which was accidentally in Apex for a short while, you received the penalty if you failed in your obligations to your squad in three consecutive matches.Your obligations were to stay in the match while you were still alive until such time that your recover banner timer had run out or all your teammates had left the match.It would count towards the leave penalty if you left a match while you were downed but still alive, but had teammates who could've revived you.It would count towards the leave penalty if you left a match after you had died while your banner was still recoverable.It would NOT count towards the leave penalty if you left a match after your 'recover banner' timer had run out.It would NOT count towards the leave penalty if you left a match when all of your teammates had already left.🤓

I never leave a game until the squad is 100% out. I can't begin to tell you how many games we bounced back- and sometimes even won! The only time I will leave is when the person has no intention of coming to get us.

I hope the Leave penalty is only before your grayed out, once your grayed you are welcomed to leave.I just started to witnessing games where teammates just abandon you completely and go to a different part of the map, without any care to recover your banner. So I have to watch Joey GAGA camp the whole game.

At the end of the day, leaving early is still a choice no matter the reason.

I do find it annoying when people quit out if I'm nearby and either able to revive them or get their banner to a respawn beacon.

But I do understand people quitting sometimes when I myself have quit out of a game if I'm dead and my team are nowhere near me and therefore will never get to my banner in time or if I've respawn timed out early in the game.

If I've timed out late on then I'd usually watch the game out if I think there's a chance of good xp or a possible win, but I don't expect anyone to stay if they've timed out.

I agree, I will spectate if it is the latter stages. I am talking about having to wait for no reason.

If there's zero chance of you getting respawned then I don't see an issue with people leaving.

Only thing with leaving when there's 90 seconds for a team mate to get your banner is that yes they may be looting boxes etc, but they still may grab your beacon, they just have their priorities wrong unless, your banner is on route to the beacon.

I think it's too hard to define whether a person left a game for a good or bad reason that I don't think you can apply bans to or time suspensions on people for leaving.

I think you should only be able to quit after your banner expires. You never know what the teammates are trying to do (getting prepared to fight the team guarding your deathbox, get a better position, give a team time to leave your deathbox, etc.).

I ALWAYS quit when the team drops at bunker: a corridor, 2, 4, 10 other teams landing in the same spot and only 2 guns whitin. Sounds stoopid eh?
And, of course, i quit when the team mates split up; when i am the last one and any of them die i quit straight away if not too much ahead in the game. Just curious to see their faces when they are down km away from each other, they start pinging the banner and i leave. That's maybe not really friendly or fair but some players need to be educated from others!

Aren't those wins some of the most gratifying? 🙂

I've won several times where the 1st player that went down quit while the other squad mate and I became Champions. You're never out until you're all out!
