So are we expected to spectate? That is a nonsense. My honest opinion is that there is acceptable times for players to quit out.

If the player is not within 250m then you should be allowed to quit without penalty.

I do find it annoying when people quit out if I'm nearby and either able to revive them or get their banner to a respawn beacon.

But I do understand people quitting sometimes when I myself have quit out of a game if I'm dead and my team are nowhere near me and therefore will never get to my banner in time or if I've respawn timed out early in the game.

If I've timed out late on then I'd usually watch the game out if I think there's a chance of good xp or a possible win, but I don't expect anyone to stay if they've timed out.

I agree, I will spectate if it is the latter stages. I am talking about having to wait for no reason.

  If there's zero chance of you getting respawned then I don't see an issue with people leaving.
  
  Only thing with leaving when there's 90 seconds for a team mate to get your banner is that yes they may be looting boxes etc, but they still may grab your beacon, they just have their priorities wrong unless, your banner is on route to the beacon.
  
  I think it's too hard to define whether a person left a game for a good or bad reason that I don't think you can apply bans to or time suspensions on people for leaving.

  I think you should only be able to quit after your banner expires. You never know what the teammates are trying to do (getting prepared to fight the team guarding your deathbox, get a better position, give a team time to leave your deathbox, etc.).
