Life past lvl 500

So now that I've joined the Apex elite (šŸ˜›), by that I mean the max level of 500, I was left with the feeling of what's next? I'm not going to lie about the fact that it's nothing kinda sucks. Every level up you get legend tokens which as every recoloured skin that comes out is locked behind a paywall (as you have to already own the basic skin) or put into the store for Apex coins (I'm looking at you voidwalker recolour) they really are useless.

Why couldn't they stick to the whole packs for every 5 levels like it was running up to LVL 500? Is this supposed to push me towards sinking more money into a game that I play for hours on end every single day? Like I don't understand it. I'm one of the many unlucky s.o.bs to have not got an heirloom so it's just what stuck behind a paywall unless I sit and wait for like 5 more seasons or whatever to make up my numbers.

I want to get more stuff. I never dreamt that I'd actually miss getting all the pointless quips/ gun charms and whatever else that I never use. Now it's just oh wow......I've "levelled up" and got more tokens......WHICH I CAN'T USE ANYWAY. It just feels like something else that sucks the joy out of the game. Are we being penalized for being a F2P player? I don't have hundreds of pounds to sink into this game just to get something that looks nice. Now that I've reached this level I feel like there's nothing left for me to do. Like, am I just supposed to focus on improving my stats? If anything it just makes me want to play on a smurf account and hope for the best with Apex packs.

On a side note, I've recently read an article about how every legend is going to one day receive and heirloom so when I do eventually get shards I'm going to be more tempted just to sit on them until my boy Revenant gets something cool.

Oh and in case anyone is wondering I've been playing Apex pretty much since like the third or fourth week that it was released.

  • @GH0STEDbyME Well thanks to you, the missus and hayhor I’m almost lvl 470... keep in mind that last month I was at 3something and at end of S6 I was 270-320... So yea...

But I’m like one of the only ones who cares not about heirloom. If I get it I’ll likely let out an uninterested ā€œhah...ā€œ and then nothing. I’ll likely use it for my bestie Rev as well even tho I hardly play him...

Lvl 500 just means... I’ve failed in life ā˜¹ļø luckily I don’t have a life so that’s redundant and paradoxical at the same time... so it’s inceptionistic!
  • @hayhorYeah, well not that long ago. There's been a few seasons where I didn't play religiously. Like I didn't complete seasons 2 - 4 BP to even half completion. I think it's probably down to the fact that I wasn't living with my mrs and we only had the one console.

@Koochi-Q  You're welcome šŸ˜‰ Nah seriously you've shot up loads. You been on much to play the "LTM"?

Originally I wasn't too bothered but now I've seen my chances go out of the window it's a little different xD I think it's partially because I wanna stream so it's like I want all the cool stuff that's nice to look at. I wanna flex on noobs. šŸ˜‰But alas the Apex Gods don't favour me. I thought I might get something once I hit lvl 500 but I was just met with disappointment.

  • It's a shame that devs react so slow on level progression extensions.

How long did it take when they realized, they should add more than 100 Levels? A year or something?

This is a joke and the fact that they stopped again at 500 is incomprehansable but so typical for this game. So sad.

If you want to check your "real" level, you can look on apex.tracker.gg

They just kept counting your progress even if you already maxed your Level. For me it says Level 697.

But yeah, it must be so much work to implement new Level badges etc. it is ridiculous.

    I am level 836.

I suppose if I kept getting Apex Packs for free past level 500 I'd have every cosmetic item possible.

    Still no heirloom shards.

Reached 500 a few weeks ago. So what now? If we want apex packs we have no choice but to reach into our wallets?

@hayhorSame! LOL we have no life or are really good at apex.. Maybe some combination of the two?!

@EdwardDLuffy No no, you'd have a lot of cosmetics but not all.. I have opened probably 1200-1300 apex packs and there are some legendaries I don't have. definitely don't have all the event skins and stuff. I have 48 packs right now, but I won't open them until they release another legend or two. I don't want more crafting materials.

@JjumpingJjack Tell me about it. I saw a video talking about the possibility of us getting some sort of prestige or regeneration like on TF2. But nothing since? I use Apex tracker but thanks for the mention. They should do something quicker. Surely they can see via data and statistics how many people have reached or exceeded lvl 500.

@EdwardDLuffy They could even reduce the frequency of the packs like every 10 lvls or more. Just so we're getting something. Or actually put stuff up for legend tokens. Rather trying to make invest money.

@Cheese9Man Basically. Or wait until the next battle pass. Though if you think about you can't even get crafting metals for collection events as you're not getting any more in packs. I'm stuck at like 640 or something.

@Cheese9ManNo they are not. The packs are RNG based. When you open a pack it stops the RNG.

Basically each item in the game is given a number. The RNG cycles through the number sequences, when you open the pack it stops the RNG producing a number sequence. It then gives you the content based on that number sequence. So if Bangalore Spacewalker skin is let's say number 299 and the RNG is stopped on 299 you will receive that skin. If you already have it, the game just automatically gives you crafting materials.

That is how they calculate the odds and percentages of what's possible. Basically just total up all the possible outcomes use that number to divide the total number of legendary items and move the decimal over 2 places. You have the percentage.
