Lost the drive to play Apex

First, I wanna say that this is just my own opinion and does not at all represent what majority of the community feels. Please be kind and I'm sorry if this comes out as being whiny. Lastly, please forgive my English grammar as English is my 3rd language. Yoroshiku onegaishimasu. 🙇‍♂️

Honest thoughts and feelings

At the start of the season I've said that season 10 has been the most fun season yet even though Seer was a bit OP. I don't know what happened to me but I find apex really boring right now (after the collection event) and I don't have any motivation to play at all. I only play when my friends are online, to maximize my battlepass, and to get my daily treasure pack. I honestly don't know why I'm feeling this way right now. Just apex burnout after playing for 2 years straight? What keeps you playing right now?

I hoped that Arenas was that game changer during season 9 but I was disappointed that it wasn't a team deathmatch mode or any mode where you just shoot, die, and repeat. I guess the lack of content also added to this feeling of being "stale". Don't get me wrong, I love apex and I still want it to succeed and grow. I'm just honestly burnt out I guess. I'm thinking of rushing my battlepass levels this week so I can get a 2-3 week rest away from the game just before season 11.

Respawn needs to step up

We all know about the continuing server issues. Yes it's not easy to handle hundreds of thousands of players playing at the same time but a product needs to be working all the time. Yes it's free to play but let's not forget that EA/Respawn will reach the 2 billion mark soon (As of August 2021) and the product/service needs to be always working to get money. That's why I hate the excuse that people can't complain because it's free to play and that we should just accept the server issues.

Also, the Chinese developers are one upping Respawn when it comes to content in the mobile version of Apex. Respawn, cosmetics are not enough. Here are some ways that the mobile version is better.

They have a 6v6 deathmatch mode

Look at how they describe each gun. They even included the recoil pattern. It's the small things.

The tutorial is WAYYYYY better than the pc/console version

And even the firing mode is better where you can even have proper moving dummies. Skip to 1:03 of the video. You can even set up a 1v1 mode in the firing range with rules and a timer just like what @MandatoryIDtag's proposed 1v1 tournament ( https://answers.ea.com/t5/General-Discussion/Anybody-interested-in-a-1v1-tournament/td-p/10601287 )

The future of Apex

I'm still hopeful and excited that season 11 will be one of the biggest seasons ever when it comes to BR just like season 7. On the other hand, I honestly think that season 11 will be a make or break season for this game. If another huge server issue happens just like what happened in this collection event, I think that a lot of people will leave. Of course apex won't die but I can see people moving on from the game. So please Respawn, don't mess this up. As a conclusion, I hope that Apex would feel alive more especially with the upcoming season and map (if you want to look at the map it's here https://answers.ea.com/t5/General-Discussion/LEAK-Season-11-will-be-HUGE-New-BR-and-arenas-maps-heirloom/m-p/10726080#M180139 ). Hope you all have a great day and I hope that you won't loose that drive playing this game like I did. 🙇‍♂️

  • @Cheese9Man It is called burnout or fatigue. You cant do the same thing for fun every day and not expect to want to try something else eventually. Also you keep track of all of the leaks so you live apex when not playing too. Take a break. I've missed about a month if this season due to vacations but am still loving it when I can play.
