Can Xbox series x players play online franchises with xbox one players

From there, it says, " Blueberry also stated that cross-play between current and next-gen consoles is also not supported, “Cross-play isn't supported for next gen consoles as far as we are aware. So PS4 players won't be able to play against PS5 players (Or Xbox One & Xbox Series X).”"
So no, Xbox One players cannot play with Xbox Series X players.
