The game has reached a point where there are many legends to be unlocked, which I think does more bad than good to the game. Why locked legends are bad for the game (from a new player's perspective)...
@ArchAngeL-PCX Overwatch made the characters free since it had to. It was basically copy of TF2 and new games was popping out that would have gotten their share of the gamers. Paladins, Battleborn (which died because people cried it was copy of ow even tho only similarity was that they were fps), lawbreakers.
Dota 2 was purchasable game, but it went f2p AND it gives the heroes for free. One of the top dogs that makes apex and overwatch look tiny games.
@KarvaRausku I will add another good example of a purchasable game having characters you still need to buy: Rainbow Six: Siege. If you just buy the base game, you're missing out on a ton of operators.
@jokool_aid What about a game like Warzone? That game doesnt have operators with abilities but the guns are all basic and you are at a severe disadvantage until you play to unlock and upgrade them. Or you have to buy them through blueprints.
@hayhor had to look up what you meant since I haven't played Warzone since launch (needed hard drive space....heard it's even worse now) and....yikes....okay, that's just garbage... I was considering going back and trying out Warzone again before reading up on that...
