Something that is worth considering -
My team have to actively AVOID fights once we get to a certain countdown-before-ring point, depending on how far away we are from the next ring. We hear and avoid loads of fights nearby that we would have taken before this change to ring dmg.
Those are all 3rd party fights that we're not inflicting on other squads. Fights that we have now near to ring-time are also probably not being 3ped as much.
Isn't this one of the most asked for things from before ring changes? A method so being constantly 3ped isn't as much?
Personally I didn't care about it, it was part of the game - but the Respawn guys have created a set of conditions where 3p at certain points is effectively suicide, nomatter how quickly you kill your enemy.
Less fights overall though, and I prefer the old ring - but the new one isn't so nuclear at the start that I can't stand it.

The community also asked for faster ring timers because of "slow" mid game.
I like the set up now. Increasingly harsher ring damage as the match goes on.
Respawn do listen, but the community forgets what they ask for lol.

I can see why they are trying to make the circle more of a threat, it means that abilities like Pathfinders passive have more value, and maybe possible future abilities in the game may have more value too.
I think that the circle damage is fine as it is, but the rounds definitely need to be longer. I've been feeling serious ring anxiety during these games as the rounds are so fast and often playing with randoms can feel a lot more like herding cattle than actually playing the game.

@Silz616I just think a lot of people aren't self-aware enough to have connected the dots yet. Over the next week or two people from all over might start saying "If I'm not 3ping these fights because of the ring, then that fight I just finished probably didn't get 3ped by at least 2 other teams nearby for the same reason".
It's horses for courses - I just preferred the old volume of fights. I've not seen that the mid-game has been made more punchy yet because people change how they play after the initial burst. Only people trying for a 20bomb are absolutely reckless a lot of the time. Most teams unless they're absolutely stacked will know that they run the risk of feeding themselves to a team with purple armor and mags. Ranked itself has slowed the game down considerably when you have to start spending RP to ante up into a game so I just think it might have all been a bit much when you add all the factors in.- 6 years ago

Me included.
I like the fact that people value their life a bit more now, and not as much run, kill, die rinse repeat.
Some gunfights and battles I've had over the past few nights have been great. Use of cover and positioning and not just a head to head trade fest.
complaints need to be left until we know exactly how things are playing out. 2 days is no time at all imo.

@Silz616That's fair but I don't anticipate me changing my mind re: the zone unless people suddenly decide to start going crazy mid-game for whatever reason. Taking the killcap off of RP might do it.
The saving grace is that in ranked I'm getting BETTER fights in some ways against a lot of familiar names. So I don't mind that there are fewer.
