@l_mRGogo Not defending them, just pointing out facts. As I stated, it is absolutely, 100% about the money lol. That is precisely why things are the way they are. I was merely pointing out a likely reason for it being as such. There is no "absurd situation" regarding the legend tokens, by any means. There's a saying in real life, "beggars can't be choosers". Should we be able to take Monopoly money to a dealership to buy a car? Or to Walmart for groceries? Nahh, that's insane lmao!! If Respawn didn't generate revenue, Apex would shut down. Now, for something like my car, which I paid thousands of actual dollars for? Yea, I'll be a bit demanding in that scenario, considering I am out of pocket. I paid them for a product, and it should be up to certain standards. I can't apply that same logic to something that I enjoy for free. This is my own personal opinion though.
On the tokens, I have way too many. I've been playing since launch, and have been maxed at lvl 500 for quite some time (I play the game because I enjoy it. Simple as that). I feel like Respawn and I are even. They provided me with a free game to play. I spent a lot of hours playing said free product, so I "tipped" them by purchasing the Voidwalker skin for Wraith when it made it's 2nd appearance in the store. That is the only skin I have purchased on this game, using real money. It's a free game. I don't have any obligation to spend any money on it if I don't want to, and they don't owe me anything, in my opinion. I have been gaming a long time, and I have payed full price for games in the past, that turned out to be pure garbage. I mean, heck, I grew up on NES and Sega Genesis. When you got a game, that was that. There weren't any patches or updates to fix bugs. There wasn't a constant steam of content or support for the game.
If anything, I suppose I would owe the paying community something, and not Respawn. If Apex depended on my money to stay operational, they would have shut down a long time ago. I am thankful for the people that dump money into the game, because it keeps it free for people like me. Aaaaaanywho.. my apologies for the wall of text.
TLDR: Free is free.
