To say - "We're very aware of this perception of Pathfinder." .... feels like an insult for starters. Like we're not smart enough to see what is directly in front of our eyes. It is anything but a perception at this point. As cheese said, looking at many other legends, especially some of the newer ones with multiple tacs and passives and over powered abilities - to even suggest that paths lack of a passive ability is a "perception" shows the mentality behind this team lead. Which now, makes much more sense why Apex has as many unsolved, unaddressed and unanswered issues and questions still at large. I guess that's my perception ; )
He also says - "when there is no immediate need."
No immediate need - for who? With the small chance he even plays this game, I'm going to go out on a ledge here and predict if he even does, Path most likely isn't his main.
Does he think, because his pick rate is still good, a passive ability is not needed for Path? I know countless players that love path and absolutely hate the fact that he has NO passive ability, and feel screwed as well as they are always missing an ability when in combat against others with more - Yet they continue to use him, more out of love for him and loyalty. But not in any way does this suggest that there is no need for it to be addressed (anytime soon), or that his pick rate suggest he needs no fix.
And if pathy already has "potent combat power" in your opinion - I'm curious to know what your thoughts on Valk, Seer, Vantage and others, and where their abilities sit on the potent scale?
The Legend has basically no passive. What about that does Eric not understand? Considering some legends have multiple built in abilities for their passive. Why do any of us have to explain this in the first place? And what does he mean "I'm hopeful the future is friendly...." - is he suggesting he hopes one day Pathfinder will get a passive ability in the future as Apex Legend's lead game designer? His statement alone suggest that a friendly future would consist of pathfinder receiving a passive. One day, when its deemed needed, I guess?
