I've played tons of fps games on console and only in Apex did I feel that the aim assist was so strong that it is cheating.
Honeslty I feel everyone should use the same thing, either all mouse and keyboard or all controller. Mixing the 2 together in fps games has never been a good idea. I don't care you have aim assist that is wayyy to strong imo, I just don't want it in my games.
@EThought113213I have the other way experience. I come from PC like 10+ years ago when the gaming peripherals weren’t nearly as advanced as they are now obviously and played some PvP games that required fast movement and precision. I found those games playing easier than playing console games where the same needed to happen.
Aiming on console with Aim Assist works good for certain situations and in others it’s detrimental. Try shooting 1 person and another one steps halfway in front of your target and the guiding will try to focus on the new guy while you’re basically fighting to get your cursor on target... basically giving you another layer of recoil to deal with. Fighting from 50+m with auto rifle? Good luck.
You can always turn off aim assist and see how you’ll fare, I can promise you, you won’t fare, you’ll get taken out by a lvl 1 new player with a mozambique most likely cause the aim is atrocious and ppl have to teach themselves how to play without aim assist.
Even your own post needs to make you think about aim assist if it’s true. 0 for mouse. Why? Like I said, a mouse can pinpoint basically each pixel with a high amount of accuracy if you know your mouse and your settings.
Controller on pc has less aim assist. Why? Dont know, why. Controller on console is closest to aimbot. Why? Well my thinking is without it they wouldn’t the same feeling that pc ppl get. Matches would be luck based or only the ppl who mastered non-aim assist would come out on top every single time. But that still doesn’t mean it’s near aimbot that keeps it centered on the target. And is the 1.0 value measured in 1000 percentiles or 100, like in math where 1.0 can be just 1, or 10, or 100 or 1000 depending on what the situation is. Cause if 0.6 is 600 out of 1000 or 60 out of 100, that is alot of argue-room for it not being close to aim bot...
That is, if what you said is true obviously.

by the way, am almost sure that once a console player joins a PC lobby then the aim assist is turned down, and not only that, the aim gets completely scrambled and not accurate even for a controller.
and when I say not accurate I mean literally not accurate- 5 years ago@maximas1986 Lolz so once you join PC lobby as a consoler you're put in an even greater disadvantage? NICE! :D That's good to know next time I join a pc buddy (which'll be never).
Already fighting ppl who in practice should have superior aim and then also less reliable 'lifeline' (pun intended, but you know I mean AA as a lifeline XD), that's just great. Thanks for the info- DarthValtrex5 years agoHero (Retired)@Koochi-Q When I get my PC I'll send you an invite..

How come all these people that constantly cry controller is aimbot don't just switch to controller and dominate all those pathetic noobs foolish enough to continue using mouse and keyboard. How come all those dudes banking money in tourney's and professionally sponsored don't switch to controller and win a bunch of easy money until the rest all catch on. Dang I am in the process of switching to mouse and key right now because I love movement, but what an idiot I must be to leave my legal aimbot behind. Man give it up. Dude probably was on a new account, got in a complete trash noob lobby where everyone is standing around not knowing what to do and uses it as justification that all those times he was getting lasered wasn't because someone was better than him but obviously because they were using built in aimbot controllers. I have been on Mouse and Key for less than 2 weeks. I am in no way better than controller yet obviously after using a controller for 30 years, but my wing man shots are already much better than they ever were on console. That must say something about the ability to aim with a mouse. Aim hasn't been a problem at all, it is more just pushing wrong buttons or having to think about what I am doing slowing me down substantially.
- hayhor5 years agoHero@Koochi-Q I'm quite sure the aim assist on console is turned up due to the lack of graphics and frames vs PC. We will see if they change it if we ever get an updated apex on new consoles.
Also aim assist hating MNK snobs will never admit the advantage they have with mouse movement so I wouldnt even bother with that.
My experience is the same as Darth when I play with PC players. Their movements are nuts and dont even bother trying to be in a sniper fight.
The reason it still exists is that they have data on controller vs MnK and show that it is balanced.
