Or how about if I can play with multiple Legends and I'm on my phone, or in the bathroom, or eating, or performing open heart surgery, or whatever the case is? You're literally blowing something up that means nothing. It has nothing to do with not being invested. I can not choose a character and be the kill leader. It has nothing to do with how I'll perform in game.
I only need to pick if the character I want isn't pre set from the pre game lobby bruh. Also, I personally prefer not to be drop leader.

Good, now I understand why the designated Jumpmaster in Legend selection screen is not the same when game starts... so it just depends on choosing your Character by clicking it or not? 😃
And what about a 'Random' button, like in (most) fighting games? Sometimes it could be just fun to play with whatever Legend the system picks up for you :D

Same. There are times when I'm also taking a huge bite of something and need to wipe off my hands with a napkin, so if my pre-selected Legend is available I don't really mind.
@PretzelnutcakeI feel like some bad experiences in games with players going AFK is the result of toxic behavior rather than a game mechanic being the root cause of it. While a lot of players here seem to disagree with you, we don't mind seeing different perspectives on how others view certain design features. Keep in mind the developers thought this out prior to release by relinquishing drop leader if the last person was AFK at the selection screen to avoid the other 2 members force dropping at some edge of the map.
If you feel it's a concern though, how would you fix it? Would you implement some type of incentive for the last person to select their Legend rather than going AFK?- 6 years ago@EA_Blueberry you know what we need? a second pre-select just in case the main pre-select is choose.
- 6 years ago@EA_Blueberry Everyone here seems to have a problem with being jumpmaster when all I'm saying is to show you're involved by just putting the effort into picking your character, I'm almost guaranteed to be jumpmaster regardless of what my position was and I have no problems with that because unlike the majority here I can take the responsibility. But as for incentive besides giving some extra xp for the jumpmaster I don't see a way to make someone who doesn't like it to change their minds without giving out a unreasonable amount of loot, unless a lootbox for every 100 times you were a jumpmaster maybe?
But again my entire point here was to tell the players to get rid of their 'idk' attitude, somehow they don't realise that it is indeed toxic in a way, but it seems the only definition of toxic as far as they're concerned is someone throwing a match or calling their mothers unpleasant names..- 6 years ago

It's players using a fully intended minor game mechanic for whatever reason they have to do so, and it's annoying you personally. Now it does suck that you're unhappy with this behaviour, but I'm not sure this issue can be solved on the side of the other players, and I don't feel it should be attempted to solve on the side of the devs.
Maybe just turn off the sound and look away during character selection, so you don't even know who did things what way? Maybe imagine everyone not actively confirming their choice of legend is using that time to do a one person haka in front of their screen to get pumped for the upcoming match? In any case I'd simply advise to try to keep the assessment of other players' attitudes based more on their behaviour during the actual match, as the pre-match behaviour seems quite hard to judge (if non-vocal).
