@EREGDS Rank is not the only basis for matchmaking. It takes into account a hidden MMR system.
According to the dev, pred/masters lobbies in arenas, the likelihood of getting lowered skilled teammates are higher since most preds in arenas are 3 stacking. There’s not enough solo queueing preds to be matched as your teammate.
This basically confirms what a lot of people in this forum suspect, including myself, that ranked arenas doesn’t have enough of a player base to have proper matchmaking.

- @Cheese9Man oh ok I go that part but it basically says something like SBMM is not working/is working because it is based on MMR which in turn again is a top-secret formula and does not say anything to us = regular players :D
And the fact about Preds/Masters and tristacking on the other hand is no mystery, that is a well documented fact - look at any streaming Pred/Master - they never play with randoms.
Yet I am still amazed how come Respawn tailor SBMM towards not only top 750 players but also one who are in a set team = giving them lower ranked enemies who don't have a stacked team...getting back to the point where e.g. D4 solo player who has not found a team is likely to run into stacked Pred/Master teams, because those poor skilled and stacked players have noone to play against :D
Geez, Respwan should just make stacked predator squads wait for a stacked predator / high master stacked lobbies only even if that takes days! Problem solved 🙂 might make some of those preds to play with randoms and make situation even more fair :P

Most of the time we benefit from it but at the cost of the “occasional” questionable MM.
@Cheese9ManI would correct you here - ones who suffered were Top Preds/Master thus the change a few seasons ago allowing them to get into Diamond lobbies.
Other rank players as far as I am informed were just fine with waiting times and based on number of topics about SBMM would opt for longer waiting times if that would mean that lobbies say for Platinum player would not contain Diamonds and especially Masters/Preds (cases where Platinum player gets pushed into Diamond lobbies at the same time when Masters/Preds don't have people and are allowed into lower level lobbies).
I have not faced issues with matchmaking, as I wrote earlier I still wait for ~15 min to get a set squad at Diamond level given there are not too many players in Discord servers... so yeah I see this argument valid only from Pred/Master perspective which in turn should have the toughest time in the game as they are top of the top 🙂Imagine say Usain Bolt coming to a competition and saying "hey I have the world record, no one is even close so give my lane a headwind, because I am the fastest yet I don't want to give my 100% today". That's exactly what the current Apex system provided to Predators on daily basis. It almost makes sense to get to their level via illegal ways to reap the benefits because who knows maybe me as a Predator especially with a trail would scare better players away and deal with the remaining ones with as much effort as now in Diamond lobbies...
