I know this is at this point a divisive and tired subject. However I literally am completely out of patience. My neighbor just got the game and wanted to play so I agreed to play some games with him. I’m only level 229 and my KD is like 0.62 or something awful. I only have a 2k badge. No 20 kill blades anywhere. We were queueing up for trios. It was me, my level 25 neighbor and a level 45. The champion squad was 2 level 500s. This happened more than once. How is that matching people of similar skill. This isn’t some isolated incident. This was 2 days in a row at peak playing times which means there’s even more people playing so there should be more options for matching skill. The system is so broken. It makes it only a game for the super sweats and elite. No casual or new gamers allowed and that’s a load of horse....

@rickyresselLevel 500 does not mean they are good at the game, it just means they play a lot. I know a lot of level 500's who are not that great.I get that the game can be frustrating. I completely understand how frustrating it can be when you want to game with lower skill friends.But removing SBMM would be even harder. You will get people in your matches who are top tier players in terms of skill.I would imagine with your stats you're in lower skill lobbies. Trust me you do not want to be gaming with people who have KD's of 1+. If you remove SBMM you will have a TON of them in your lobbies. Your friends will find the game nearly impossible for months. I went through that in Season 2 and it was brutal.This game has a steep learning curve, especially for those who have no experience with a BR. I typically spend time in the firing range with new comer friends. Go through controller settings with them, get everything set right.. Let me get a feel for game movement, legend abilities and so on.When they are ready for a match drop to slow areas of the map so they can learn loot inventory and priority. If that's still a struggle perhaps give ranked a go. Encourage them to push through the learning curve.The LTM that's out right now is an ideal place for them to get experience with guns and other players. They don't have to loot or stack inventory. They can just go at it repeatedly and get the feel for the guns/movement down.if you need/want more help feel free to add me as a friend in game. I'll join you and your friends in the firing range and go through settings with you amongst other things. Depending on your location and what my ping is, I might play some rounds with you. There is a huge misconception about how SBMM work and how K/D work, just to make something very clear: 0.6 K/D is the avg on players who did not quit to protect K/D in the past (yes its been patched now so you cant protect your K/D any longer). Game looks at your recent performance, not counting what you did a year ago or something.When you make a premade with 3 people you will matchmake using the person with the highest MMR + they try match you with other premades. Most of these are proper teams playing ranked together too so you will feel the lobby being much harder then when you solo. On top of this many teams mostly play ranked and when they play pubs they just fool around and keep dying more there to silly things then ranked, and hence get lower SBMM for pubs. I for me hardly every try winning a pubs, I just want to have fun and play with weapons I normally never ever pick up. Hence I matchmake with lower lobbies in pubs then I do in ranked. Also if one of your lower levels in the group had an amazing game before you group with them you will get some nasty matches, remember its easier to get a proper awesome game in low SBMM lobbies 😉For instance when my son and daughter plays Apex I normally end up watching them and cheering them on even if they have higher K/D then me, because if they come to my lobbies they dont have fun at all (they are 25 and 45, I am 500), I keep dropping silly in pubs just to practice chaos management or get a proper laugh and that stuff is NOT healthy to your K/D but still my lobbies are not pretty. While their lobbies they can stop and fix things without getting punished, and you can do a multitude of mistakes without dying because their lobbies are at their level as it should be. If you guys play together you should mentally prepare and have a strategy when you jump, its possible to enjoy if they are prepared for what they will meet for sure and you can play safer so they have a chance to catch up. Normally the stuff a low level struggles most with is finding their way, rotating properly, game sense and looting correctly and fast, taking IGL and fixing the rotation for them and doing it in a way where you can control how fast the game is they can enjoy this a whole lot as they can focus on 1 or 2 things instead of everything.

@rickyressel SBMM is pretty much working fine in pubs. I'm at 1.20-ish KD and it's pretty much easy to play solo. I get at least 2 kills most of the time. haha in news today - I know from friends the COD Cold War SBMM is EVEN more aggressive than COD MW.
But is this still technically "cheating" if players are not even participating in game yet and just back out in lobby stage?
i.e. In Apex. How many people quit lobby after seeing their 2 squad mates rank & banner stats in public matches...

The amount of effort people put into COD to reverse boost 10 times to get one good game, Low rank host parties, smurf etc. What a hassle, might as well just not play it anymore.
One good thing about Apex is that if things go south and not your way, getting into another lobby within 10 secs is faster than any other BR game

I like shooter games and playing it almost all the time on max difficulties, in Apex i'm playing like platinum player now and have 1.1K/DA (was 1.6 before that broken SBMM), have max 11kills and 2600dmg on my account of 420+ lvl but ALLWAYS see predators or at least masters or 20bomb badge in death log, many times they are play in team of 3ppl and now i'm so happy if have 5+ kills in a match or being a champion at least 1 time a day (playing 10+ hrs a day) so i want to scream from my window about it!
2 times i got a Diamond 4 and know what, there was easier or the same to play then "casual" pubs.
I do not know what to do, i can't understand how the gold/plat noob with k/d 1.1 == 20bombs predator with k/d of 5+ , that's so unfair and unreal to play, no fun at all ☹️
Respawn pls check my account there something wrong with it, it do not must have pro player weight on SBMM or something, i just CAN'T play like this!!!

Klar bedeutet das nicht's aber niemand kann mir erzählen das es Normal ist oder man als Anfänger sich damit abfinden sollte das wenn man LvL 6-10 ist nur noch Pred's, Master, Diamond spieler in der Lobby ab bekommt.. das ist echt unter aller sau jetzt mal im ernst.. wie soll man da noch lust am zocken haben wenn direkt vorm spawm geholt wirst sobald du landest... genauso wie mit Season 13 jetzt die vor der Tür steht staat das Problem einfach mal zu fixen macht EA!! der Community sinnlose Hoffungen..
Sie haben schon ab Season 10 gesagt das sie das Problem Fixen und das ab Season 12 alles gefixt wäre im gegenteil!! sie haben nicht mal damit angefangen bzw. liebe sinnlose müll raus bringen die Neue Legende, Neue map, Neue Ti.PG!! ich schwöre wenn die neue map an kommt die wird genauso abstürtzen wie Stormpoint.. für paar tagen und dann werden richtig probleme auf kreuzen ich sag mal so die ganz anderen Pred's haben schon gequittet in apex weil jeden tag low gegener ist zwar spaßig aber irgendwann gehts auf die nerven und ja aceu hat vor kurzen ebendfall beendet.

Not to take away from your fine post, but unfortunately, not true as we expected when this rule change was coming. Kills and assists are granted if someone leaves when knocked, but a death on ones' stats is still avoided.
