@Wingmannedbro As you already know controllers have autoaim to help in close combat situations. The recoil is also heavily reduced. On console this is fine because it’s something everyone has.
On PC these aids are even stronger with the intention of making it an even battlefield.
This is however not something they have managed to get right. Controllers are dominating and the higher you get the more you run into.
In addition it has become popular to use the inbuilt assist with mouse and keyboard.
You are welcome to dismiss this as ramblings which is the typical response for anyone using controllers. What is needed for a fair playing field is simply to have these input methods in different lobbies.
Does Apex do the same thing as Fortnite on PC? I will agree that using a mouse to controller transceiver in a game like Fortnite is basically soft core aimbotting, and it's noticable when FN players do this.
But in FN at least controller players don't win tourneys and only barely have a presence in competitive FN events. MKB still dominates. I play FN with MKB since it's is way way way easier and better than controller.
Dunno about Apex on PC with controller tho. Come next summer ill give it a try to see if I notice a difference between PS4 and PC.

@Wingmannedbro From what I understand the controller assist in FN is very strong atm and will likely be nerfed. But don’t take my word for it, not really a FN player.
I know several people who went from console to PC (apex w/controller) and they abdolutely love it.
I’ve mentioned it before and it got me a ton of diss 🙂 I always play premade ranked, and when we’re one short we ask my 8 year old niece to play. We do better with him than without because of the ruthless close combat accuracy provided by his controller

But mouse already has aim assistance by means of vastly superior technology. If you cannot outperform controller with a mouse regardless of aim assist you're just not good in the first place. I'm sorry to say but the data is already collected on this issue and the verdict is in.
Controller doesn't stand a chance against superior the speed, precision and predictability of mouse aim. Controller gets completely dumpstered in any game where the two mix. Fortnite demonstrates that even with powerful aim assist they still do not stand any chance.
If you get out skilled by an ordinary controller player with mouse you lose because you're garbage. If you lost to a player like Daltoosh or ZeusRessurected, it's because they're pro's.
I cannot believe there are actually people who argue that controller beats mouse.

@Wingmannedbro Wow, such a butthurt reaction.
That verdict is ancient and has no merit today.
That’s why controller assist has been tweaked considerably on PC so that you can compete against mouse. Unfortunately it’s tweaked too much and close combat is now a case of a human person vs a robot.
I’m just as much pro as I’m garbage. Just looking for a fair playing ground.
