I don't really know how to say this but "most" players don't know how to aim, properly. Patience is a thing but pretty much the last thing when it comes to what is perceived as skilled. Patience is situational and accuracy / gun skill /quick reaction is ever present. EVER present. It will help you in every situation, even if you messed up.
I once read posts on Reddit about "what could I have done differently to win" on Apex university and some players almost lost it because the OPs' aim was so bad....no one wants the practice or put effort towards it to improve, yet they ask it and want the results? In high tier lobbies people do not seem to miss shots. There's no options, many times. You peak wrong you are dead. Patience won't help here if I can't put my opponent down quick in turn with whatever I have equipped.
Good aim is invaluable. But bad aim is hardly any real handicap in a game with skill-based matchmaking. You mostly get lumped in with other "bad" players and the wheels on the bus go round and round. Which is not to say that I don't believe in making any effort to improve. But as I've said before, I'm 20,000 matches into this game. When will I get better? How much more experience and practice is needed (let alone realistic)?
I recently read something about Dr. Disrespect saying that the problem with CoD is that it doesn't have the high skill ceiling of Apex. I'm sure it would upset him, and possibly you as well, to hear me say this, but the skill ceiling in this game is too high. By a big margin. BIG. I'm not saying that 20,000 should automatically make me the best in the game, but when that many matches go by without bringing me any closer to the stuff I see on youtube... then the developer has made a design decision that benefits the top 3% at the expense of their every-day playerbase. They haven't made the game unplayable for me, but they've hardly done anything to reward persistence, longevity, or loyalty.
