The new update failed in my opinion. With out drop zones half the teams are dead before ring 2 closing. Than it is trying to find the rest.The only solution is 2 drop ships going opposite direction and parallel. Then at least there will be more board coverage.
I've seen a lot of players mention having more than one drop ship.
How will this stop players from separating and going elsewhere?
It's like we don't understand human nature. There has to be constraints otherwise humans will stray by default. It's just how we are.
The only solution is to let the ALGS format lead the way. We were on the right track, but made a U-turn. It's that simple.
They literally ruined rank entirely with no proper drop ships. The game just feels like pubs and then to keep doing this on World's Edge the worst map to be hot dropped constantly into downtown is the worst decision. Now the previous drop ships and us spread to thin, they need to take 15 most popular POI's then allow two teams to drop on either end of it and allow you to at least get an early battle in and then rotate. They could have slightly connected ones that just allow for mid-third party as that is the nature of Apex but to have 12 teams drop into the middle of District, Alter Takeover or World's edge and fight for 1 gun against 30 players is the worst decision they could've made for the game.
At this point it feels like they're putting more effort into wild card than in ranked.
Honestly ranked is dead in my opinion
I made a post suggesting a competitive mode/ tournaments on certain weekends. I figure it's the only way to find a compromise. The devs already said they took POIs away because they saw a player count drop in ranked. Giving them the impression players want to drop on their own instead of being plopped in the middle of nowhere, though I believe we could get sort of voting system before the match starts with a list of your favorite POIs from each player, like your skins, and the game just chooses one of those the top three from each player on the team. I'm sad and it sucks for those us who want a more ALGS style of end games; the harsh truth is most players are braindead and just wanna get dopamine hits ASAP so they hot drop and int their little hearts out. I wish it stayed in Pubs, but I guess it's the only way they'll be happy playing ranked.
