@ThisGameBlows I fail to understand why such an effective cash cow is not getting the investment it needs to future proof itself, from a business point of view???
I know! It's baffling! I don't get it either. Truly. They are so greedy, it's to the detriment of their own product and company. It truly is baffling. You're spot on. From a business standpoint, if you're a smart business man, you would invest heavily back into this product to make it future-proof and a sustainable IP for EA considering how much it generates annually. I don't get it either lol. As I'm writing this I'm trying to make sense of it, and it still makes no sense besides detrimental greed from EA and more specifically, their CEO Andrew Wilson. He ultimately approves all these decisions. This is why suits should not be in charge of gaming companies. They ruin creativity. They don't know what's best for them to remain sustainably healthy. Seriously, what does EA have now? Fifa and Apex. That's it! Maybe Madden, I don't know, haven't played it in years. But a AAA publisher has 2 titles that generate money. That's it! Battlefield, Anthem and even Bioiware, have all been destroyed under his management. Truly astonishing how bad the management is all-around. This is why mommy drinks.
@ThisGameBlows I mentioned in a previous thread that fortnite is majority owned by the owner afaik, ea has shareholders. The dividends must be blinding the shareholders at the moment, as its them the management is answerable to in the long run. Why are the shareholders oblivious to this obvious business flaw?
A perfect example of what happened to yt in ranked, except to me just now in Diamond ranked.
I had dropped around rift. Was getting a few red icons and slight rubber banding, the ring appeared to the far south, so I grabbed as many med kits as I could find expecting further problems. It got worse. Not only could I not use the medkits, I was rubber banding like a time warp. The med kits turned into shields. The clock continued to count down and I was done for. I could not leave the game to go to the lobby and had to shut the game down. Upon restart I found that I had not lost 48 points, it was as if the game had never been played, as the previous game result was there?? Go figure. If I had lost my points I would have been livid, as it was I was just annoyed and frustrated at the waste of my time.

@OldTreeCreeper I'm not sure. The only explanation I can come up with is that EA's CEO is spinning them tales of how well they're doing when they receive those massive fiscal bonuses which came from the release of an unfinished product. So basically they make money, and the playerbase gets the short end because they've already paid them their money, for an unfinished product that will never get the support it needs to fix it and deliver on it's promise. Kind of like Anthem and now, Battlefield. It's actually extremely shady in terms of business practices and I'm surprised severe legal action hasn't been taken yet. It's essentially theft. My personally assessment is that Andrew Wilson CEO @ EA is actually quite terrible at his job, and is the main reason EA has nothing sustainable at the moment besides Apex, which he had nothing to do with. The fact that EA doesn't have a list of sustainable IP's right now only illustrates the man's lack of creativity and knowledge when applied to the gaming industry. He's just a suit. And unfortunately these egregious tactics have dismantled any-and-all credibility with the developers as they have no say if he say's "release an unfinished product." Which is all he can do along with loot boxes. So my guess is he's spinning tales with the shareholders and as long as they see money, they don't care. Even if that means going under as a company. They are okay being the frog in the boiling pot, apparently. Ineptitude is the true killer-Caustic.
