Request for a Performance Mode on Nintendo Switch 2

Dear Apex Legends Development Team,

I would like to respectfully express my concern regarding the current performance limitations of Apex Legends on the Nintendo Switch 2.

As a competitive player, it is disappointing to see the game capped at 60 FPS while players on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and supported PC hardware are able to compete at 120 FPS or higher. In a fast-paced battle royale environment where reaction time, tracking, and overall responsiveness are critical, the difference between 60 FPS and 120 FPS can create a noticeable competitive disadvantage.

The Nintendo Switch 2 is significantly more capable than its predecessor, and many players were excited about the possibility of a higher-performance Apex Legends experience. For this reason, I would like to request that the team consider adding a Performance Mode that prioritizes frame rate, even if it requires reduced graphical settings or resolution scaling.

Many competitive players would gladly sacrifice visual fidelity in exchange for smoother gameplay and a more level playing field across platforms. Providing players with the option to choose between Quality Mode and Performance Mode would greatly improve the experience for those who value competitive performance.

Apex Legends has built its reputation on skill-based gameplay, and giving Nintendo Switch 2 users access to higher frame rates would help ensure that all players can compete under more equitable conditions.

Thank you for your continued support of the game and for considering feedback from the Nintendo Switch 2 community.

Sincerely,

A Dedicated Apex Legends Player

I want to add something extremely important, because this is not just a technical issue, it’s a question of fairness and whether they truly believe in their own game and their own players. Everyone in the Apex community knows what happens the moment you say you play on Switch: every streamer, every competitive player, every pro laughs. Not because we are bad, but because the game itself puts us at a massive disadvantage. And the developers know it.
We are the only platform locked at 60 FPS while others enjoy 120. And if 60 FPS is “good enough”, then why isn’t it 60 FPS on every platform? Why do PC, PS5, and Xbox get double the frames? Why are we the only ones forced to compete with half the visual information? This is not a skill issue — it’s a system issue.
I’m not here to tell the developers what solution to implement. That’s their responsibility. But if they insist on keeping us at 60 FPS in crossplay lobbies, then they must find a real way to balance the gap they created.
And honestly, I challenge your BEST Apex developer/player to stream a full climb to Apex Predator on crossplay (with real PC, PS5, and Xbox enemies)using the Switch 2 version, no carries, no help, just their 60 FPS and their skill. Show us that it’s possible, because right now it doesn’t feel possible at all. Every ranked gamed with my friends, I need all my PC friends to carry me, and I hate feeling like a burden to them. That alone should tell you how unfair the current system is.
We are not asking for an unfair advantage. We are asking for a fair chance.
