ranking issue

Is it true that there is no base score for all ranks now? This means that we cannot stop playing ranked games after reaching the Diamond rank, because the base score will rise with the ladder system, which can lead to demotion from Diamond to Platinum, and even from Master to Diamond... Am I right? If so, does it mean we have to keep climbing indefinitely to maintain our rank? It sounds exhausting.

    At the same time, we are simplifying the math at each tier by setting each division to be 1000 LP, and we are simplifying the nomenclature of tier and points. Instead of saying 5134 LP, we are presenting it as Bronze 3 - 134 LP in game.

    So if I understand correctly, if I reach the Master rank and don't play ranked games for a while, my rank won't be demoted due to inactivity. Is that right?

    @vacesm 

    That is correct, at least for the current season. At the start of the new season you will have to play placement matches again.
