Rate Apex Legend’s Season 11 Escape

The season is about to end with only 2 weeks left of the thematic event and 1 week of absolutely nothing. The only remaining thing left is the seasonal teasers for the season 12 legend on the 21st (look at the sky in SP 😉). So from 1-10, 10 being the best season that apex had ever to 1 being absolute unplayable trash, what rating will you give this season?

Side note: Technically the Apex anniversary day will still fall on S11 but they’ll probably push that to S12. I doubt that they’ll only allot 1 week for the anniversary. 

Here’s a quick summary of what we got and some other things this season

1. NEW BR MAP- STORM POINT

The biggest thing about this season. It’s a welcome edition to the roster of maps but it didn’t blow most of players away. It’s aethetically pleasing to the eyes but playing pubs in this map is just “okay”.

2. NEW LEGEND - ASH

I actually love Ash and she’s a very nice addition to the roster. Lore-wise she is great and it’s great that we got another villain in the apex legends. She’s not too powerful nor too weak. Respawn didn’t pull off that OP Seer gimmick with a ready-to-go nerf. Hoping that we get more variety with the legends outside of mobility or recon legends.

3. NEW WEAPON - CAR SMG

It’s alright. It didn’t change anything when it comes to the gun meta. It was actually the previous season’s new weapon that changed the meta. It’s just an R99 that can use 2 ammo types in exchange for a slightly more difficult recoil pattern.

3.5 Dual Shell Hop-up

I love this hop-up so much and it’s how hop-ups should be. Now let’s get rid of the shattercap rounds and bring back select fire for the prowler and havoc.

4. LTM - Winter Express

It’s still the best LTM but it’s still a recycled LTM used to test out the gun loadouts of the mode coming this year.

5. Collection Event - Raiders event

We didn’t get a town takeover for the first time and we didn’t get a new music pack for a CE. The skins are also meh. Sad.

6. Thematic Event: Dark Depths and NEW ARENAS MAP - Habitat

The thematic event is just like the halloween event where they try to sell more things but I like that it will add to existing pool of skins so that we can get from regular apex packs. The new arenas map, like Storm Point, looks great but it’s stuck in a mode that not a lot of people play.

Other stuff

Servers - Best season ever when it comes to the servers. Recently it has been a bit unstable but in general was great and had no troubles. 

Battlepass - Not the best but I like the Gibby skin (biased of course). 

Cheaters/Exploits - Don’t really notice any cheaters at all in this game (I know about strikepacks) in all honesty except when I party up with my PC friends where the cheats are blatant/obvious. The exploits has been a big topic this season with the Sentinel/Rampage bug but that’s a PC issue again. Haven’t seen people do the speed glitch yet but I saw some exploiting the broken invisible walls in Antenna in SP.

Lore - I hate this style of story telling. I already read a lot of chat apps for my job and in my social media sites so I don’t want it in apex. Bring back the comics instead. No bloodhound style lore but I guess that budget will go to the S12 teasers. Bangalore STFO is a meh and the skin is meh. Stop the fan service of bringing out pilots when you’re only opening up the wounds of the TF2 community. Also, why did they put pilot helmets in the banner frames in the BP where non of the upcoming skins will have those style? 

Rating: 6.5 out of 10

Like what I’ve said for Ash, the CAR, and Stormpoint, that they’re just okay, that’s how the season feels, just okay. When you list all of the new things this season, it seems that we got a lot of content but most of this was just at the start of the season while leaving us to dry midway and at the end of the season. SP is a nice addition as well as Ash and the CAR SMG. They could have done much better with the LTM. No towntakeover was just sad. Also, stop promising us LTMs when you’re not gonna delivery. 

What’s you’re rating? As much as possible please don’t do the steam reviews style of 0 out of 10. Let’s be as constructive as possible. LOL.

    1. Storm Point map:

    I like it and it is a welcome change however I think that they could have done better as far as rotations go.  The launch cannons are ok but predictable more jump towers are needed.

    2. Ash:

    Pretty good legend (not OP or UP) have not played her much. The one way Phase is nice and did not impact as much Wraith as many thought it would. 

    3.  CAR SMG:

    Nifty weapon and  due to the fact that one can use either mag type and ammo type is great since you will not starve for ammo. I due think that they could have made it so that the different ammo types would have different dmg, fire rate and recoil patterns.  

    3.5 Dual shell hop up:

    Nice to have works well. 

    4. LTM Winter Express:

    Was fun but really an LTM that did not have any worthwhile reward to play except for the monotony break up due to the fact that ALL of the MANY LTM's that were said to be in season 11 did not manifest.   

    5. Collection event:

    Overshadowed the Winter Express and was not at all great. They should have at least staggered these two things and added some rewards for playing Winter Express.

    6. Dark Depths:

    Where are the LTM's? They should have done an LTM or two instead. 

    Other: Servers have been great compared to the debacle of season 10. Battle pass is not the best or worst. Hideouts and the Bann hammer team have been doing a good job at hitting players for teaming/farming RP, getting Streamers for using exploits showing that top players and steamers are also beholden to the ToS.  RP changes in ranked was a nice try but really only catered to more of the me me me I need KP attitude and not team play, it needs serious work and reform. 

    All in all i am going to rate it a 7 out of 10 mainly due to the fact the game was actually playable vs season 10 server issues

    1. Storm Point map:

    Its ok but way to big, and in duos youre pretty much locked to ash and valk to be able having some fun. For a ranked map it was fubar to say the leart, and it was insane to put it into the ranked rotation before testing it properly.

    2. Ash:

    Ash was a fun adition, not op or anything but it would be nice to get something to compete with gribby soon instead of yet another movement legend.

    3.  CAR SMG:

    Fun adition, but messed up the loot tables for a while in the start of season. Not a big fan of the weapon, to chaotic recoil pattern.

    3.5 Dual shell hop up:

    Love it

    4. LTM Winter Express:

    Fun ltm but not my favorite, I honestly love the Halloween one with getting a bit of titanfall 2 movement hehe.

    5. Collection event, 6. Dark Depths:

    For the lvl 500s out there Im sure they all love the events, not for the loot but for the chance of a fewl lootboxes to come closer to the heirloom... But in general I think the latest skins produced by Respawn been bad and not worth the effort/money. That is more or less a global thing. Same arenas dont really interest me that much, its a good warm-up thing though or to test very specific things for the team.

    Servers - Been strugling, player/game loop going into rubber mode so get rubberbanding with 20ms latency to the servers and problems connecting to servers. Pretty much the same ol same ol as before, we however had less downtime then normal lately so in that aspect its been better. I hope we get a bit more server tlc and a bit higher hz on the server platforms, esp in ranked.

    Battlepass - Latest seasons and this one is no exception, not a big fan. They been lacking quite a bit compared to the old battlepasses.

    Cheaters/Exploits: Been loads of exploiters, esp in ranked come to rampage, but its been better with cheaters, still met a good few in ranked in particular but its been an improvement. 2nd split in ranked been totally overrun by smurfs which is a horrid situation for the game, same with pubs for the newbies, its killing recruitment and fun.

    Rating 4.5 out of 10 for this season, wanted to give 6 but because of the smurf situation which is just getting worse and worse I had to remove a bit.

    I agree mate, I actually like storm point but as a pubs map it's not very good.

    I haven't used Ash yet, no particular reason, i just can't tear myself away from Fuse lol

    Pffft....Just give me a flatline

    Bring back the anvil!

    That Fuse skin is just embarrasingly rubbish

    Not to get off topic but you said "2nd split in ranked been totally overrun by smurfs which is a horrid situation for the game, same with pubs for the newbies, its killing recruitment and fun."

    I believe there is a direct correlation to the bann hammer coming down on players and what are seen to be so many new Smurfs running around.

    Actually when banhammer came down you saw less smurfing for a while until it picked up again a week later 😉

    @Cheese9Man Storm Point: Personally, I love the map. I got my highest damage match in BR on there, and just like the way it plays, for me.

    Ash & CAR: Dope. Love them both. I prefer Ash over Wraith, by a wide margin, and the CAR has quickly become probably my favorite SMG in the game. I typically run heavy ammo in it, because light ammo just feels weird to me, for some reason.

    Hop-up: No opinion. Haven't used it

    Events: Don't really have an opinion here either. I didn't get much in to the events this season, after Halo dropped. Completely missed Winter Express, Lol

    Servers/Cheaters/Exploits: Servers have been fine for me, as per usual. Cant remember the last time I DC'd or had a super laggy match. I've never really notice many, if any, cheaters in my games going back to launch. Not sure if it's my region or what, but I've never had an issue with cheaters/hackers. Also, I don't think I ran into anyone doing the Rampage/Sentinel glitch, at least not to my knowledge

    Overall: I'd still give it around an 8.0, personally. The only reason I have played less this season, is Halo, and I cant hold that against Apex. I've been playing Apex for only almost 3 years now, and have been playing Halo for 20+ years at this point, so I'm kinda biased there. I still have a blast when I play Apex though, and that's what matters to me. I know everyone has their own experience, but mine is overall positive and fun on Apex, especially when I get my two buddies to hop on with me. Solo-queue is still a bit of a drag, and probably always will be, but that doesn't bother me much. Just gives me opportunities to get better! I honestly feel like I improve at the game more when I solo-queue, as opposed to running with my mates.

    My biggest "request" would be an official stat tracker, and maybe... just maybe a FREAKIN HEIRLOOM!!! XD

    At the end of the day, again, I still enjoy the game a lot, 3 years down (essentially), and will continue playing it into the foreseeable future, as long as I continue to have fun with it.

    An "official" stat tracker would be good 👍 

    Lol the heirloom, i got a pack once (about a year ago approx) and all 3 thingemebobs spun and i had red light emitting from all 3 and then..........

    Game crashed 😭

    Loaded back in and had absolutely nothing from the apex pack, i had no red dots against legends or loadout or anything. I sometimes wonder if that was the one where i should/could have got a heirloom, oh well 😕

    @HogynDrwg I would feel so defeated if that happened to me... Makes me somewhat happy that I've just flat out never gotten close enough to even sniff an heirloom!

    @dSKyNafinchin When did you start playing apex mate?
    I started in the last half of season 2. I've never really spent much money on the game tbh. Bought the battlepass in s3 which i turn then pays for itself every season, ive bought the odd apex pack here and there but not many, so i can't be that far from the 500 mark for packs but i don't care anymore tbh. Seems like everyone has one lately and they dont seem to be as rare as they originally were
