Re: are you allowed to use the strike pack on pc

Technically, if you do not enable any of the macros, it is fine to use a SP.  The hard part will be fighting the temptation to enables said macros.  Even good people get tempted to do what they shouldn't when they're losing and the "fix" is right there infront of them.

I would 100% recommend using the Sony back buttons instead.  They're better quality and avoid the above issue.  There are also kits for adding back buttons that take only basic technical know how to install.  If you can afford it, just get a good custom controller.  I've used AIM and Scuf and I like them both a lot.

@BigMacAttack8u The detection systems should be a bit smarter than just seeing the buttons. They should be checking for ridiculous fire rates and recoil not happening if tho the user isn't moving the stick.
  • @hayhor It is purely detecting an external device, wether it’s a keyboard or a strike pack, it is only an external device. The crazy recoil is a group of people that monitor that stuff.
  • So in your opinion, is the official Sony dual shock back button assembly in the same boat?  Minus the macro capabilities, it functions exactly the same way.  I'm more than a little shocked to find myself basically defending a SP but here we are.  I don't have time to go searching for the data of what ALGS pros use what equipment, but IIRC there are several using this in competition.

To address the OP again, this device from Sony only costs about $30 and IMO is of much higher quality than a SP, besides having the benefit of not being a device that some people use to cheat.  I used it extensively before buying a Scuf controller, and I can wholeheartedly recommend it.

@pandareno1999 I second the use of the Sony backbuttons. I used them for a long time with my ps4. What's really nice about them is you can remove them and move them to new controllers.

And I'll say it again, I highly doubt the SP banning algorithm is solely based on you having one.
  • @hayhor There's literally no reason to buy a SP to get paddles for a dual shock instead of Sony back buttons, unless one wants to cheat. They are better quality, comparable in price, and readily available.
