Re: Bring back the anvil hop up please!

@hayhor Respawn: "uwu diversity change up meta with hop-ups uwu"

Also Respawn: Keeps the same hop-ups in rotation for multiple seasons in a row*, and doesn't understand that shaking up the meta through hop-ups is ineffective because of their crappy loot distribution, and people will gravitate towards weapons that work with fewer RNG pieces to find.

Wingman, R301, R99, Mastiff, PK, Volt, all weapons that work well even without any attachments at all, and there's a reason they've remained at the top of the food chain. Triple Take's usage shot up immediately once the Precision Choke hop-up became innately installed on TT.

*Skullpiercer: S2,5,6,7.

Turbocharger: S1,2,3,6,7.

Double Tap: S3,4,5,6,7

Hammerpoint: S2,3,4,5,6,7

Selectfire: S1,2,3,4,5,6

Precision Choke: S1,2,3,4,5

Anvil Receiver: S3, 4

Edit: Why was it removed? You know Respawn, something something, usage data, something something, internal testing, something something, sense of pride and accomplishment, something something, assume positive intent.

@pastaclownI think the key is that it's weapons that don't require the hop up.

Look at the triple take, it gets a ton more play now that it does not require a choke to be an effective sniper.

The one hop up in game that you can make work until you find the gun is the tubro. You can carry a volt and turbo in your inventory until you find a havoc or devo. Most people just pass on the Devo and Havoc because the volt is just a really good gun all around as it is. The benefit you gain from a Devo or Havoc just isn't worth taking up inventory for most. Most of the others hop ups you basically have to find on drop with the gun or it's not worth it.

The hammer points are great, but honestly I dump the Moz for a Mastiff once I find a mastiff. The mastiff is just a better gun all around, mostly because you can fire it mid reload. Eva 8 is great with the double tap, but again the Mastiff is a better gun. You get more shots with the mastiff, if you miss a shot or two you can throw two more shells in it mid fight and take 2 shots. Eva 8 with double tap you get 4 shots then have to reload and it's painfully slow.

I agree with you 100%. When I'm looting guns on drop and finding attachments it really boils down to what's going to take up the least amount of inventory possible and give me the best loadout?

The Anvil on the 301 and Flatline were great.

I have been in the position in which I have a turbo but can't use it because I either can't find a havoc/devo or can't find energy ammo.  So I'm stuck carrying a light gun with a heavy gun or something. I have to pass on energy mags because I can't spare the room in my inventory. I eventually find enough energy ammo and an energy gun but can't find  a mag.. I thnkt hat's why so many people pass on the turbo.

Honestly, for me, it wasn't so much about the hop up being baked into the TT, It was the fact I could turn it on and off with a click of a button. Honestly, it was frustrating before that point, because I would want to use the triple take, But I use it both ways. And I have to manually go into an inventory to remove the hop up every time I didn't want it to use the choke, was beyond annoying and frustrating.

It's why I avoided the gun for so long. Until they made that On/Off change, I would only grab the triple take if I had a challenge that revolved around it. And even then, if it was a general sniper challenge, It was one of the last ones I would grab unless I had to. So, yeah.

  • @pastaclown You forgot about the holy grail: Disruptor rounds. And also, the Anvil has been leaked to come back for the Fight Night event; watch the gold flatline.
