I think they can't ban those players at this point, as there are no clear rules set for the solo. Remember that this mode is in a trial phase, available for a limited time so they can gather feedback to see if they keep it or scrap it and which issues to address to make it better. 

For the moment, what they could do is to maybe reward only the kills and the winner for solo, disabling the at least the challenges that require players to finish in top 3-5 if not all for this mode.
