Re: Dump trash toxic useless octane

Octane is great for team play, better than he’s ever been thanks to his jump pad buff which benefits the whole team.

In fact the Octane/ Revenant- jump pad/ totem combo has been one of the strongest strategies this season with very little downsides to it, probably one of the reasons he’s getting a nerf next season

He’s just a really popular legend right now so you’re more likely to see the selfish players pick him as he’s being played all the time by a lot of people, and can you blame them? On top of being a strong pick he’s also really fun to play, arguably the most fun legend in the game so it makes sense everyone wants to play him

I don’t know what games you’re getting in to where every single Octane is a solo player who does his own thing, suppose you’re just unlucky but a lot of the games I play they’re team players who try and stick with the team (even if a lot of them are loot goblins haha) they’ll just usually end up getting to the fight a little bit earlier because of their speed

If you really hate Octane players that much then just start playing him yourself and show your team how he’s meant to be played. To quote Gandhi - “be the change you wish to see in the world”

@Bean2kay9 If you play random ranked then trust me octanes offer NONE of the benifits youve just suggested.
The problem is that hes" fun to play" when your a base plat 4 scrub that doesnt care about rp loss or even trying to break diamond, i know end of season is bad as all the garbage has piled up at the bottom of plat but this season has been the worse by far

I do play ranked with randoms, in fact I almost exclusively play ranked solo, as in not with any friends.
I managed to solo queue my way to diamond this season and it was frustrating to say the least but not just because of selfish Octane mains.
There was selfish Wraith mains, Path mains, Gibby mains, Horizon mains ect my point is you’re going to find selfish players who drop solo, abandon games, don’t pick up banners, run away from fights no matter what rank you’re in and no matter what legend they’re playing.
You can’t blame the legend for the actions of the players and wanting them removed/ nerfed into oblivion just because of a few bad eggs who give the rest of us a bad name isn’t the way to go.
Like I said Octane is a really popular character right now so you’re more likely to see the selfish players play him for the simple fact that he’s one of the most played legends.
If they removed Octane then those players would just find another legend to play and continue to ruin games
the issues lie in the players themselves not the character, I do agree what you said about Respawn wanting a team based game but not doing much to back it up but it’s not the fault of the character and they couldn’t just remove him, especially since people payed real money for skins/ heirlooms for him
A more realistic approach would be to make the game less friendly to casuals and start implementing things like abandon penalties even outside of ranked so players are less inclined to run off solo as they know they won’t be able to just leave if they die

@dougieee I hate to break it to you, but they're not going to delete a legend because the majority of his fanbase are toxic or non team oriented. They may tweak him or nerf him, but he's not going anywhere. So you're either going to have to find people to play with in Ranked to avoid getting players like that or learn to deal with it. We all get toxic selfish players in game but we're not calling for a legend to be erased from existence.
