Re: Fix Error Code 0x8000002

When I try to launch Apex Legends I get an integrity error 0x8000002, telling me that Apex exited due to external tools that jeopardize gameplay integrity.

I have been in Germany to get started on my university journey for the last 2 months, so I haven't even touched my PC. But even the day I left, I had played Apex.

I don't use any controllers, any external software. I verified integrity of game files, I reinstalled Apex, and I went as far as to disabling Vanguard anti-cheat for Valorant.

Can anyone tell me how I can fix this problem?

RTX 2080, fully updated drivers (even reinstalled)
Ryzen 3700x
16gb RAM
Windows 10

It's really starting to get on my nerves, and I'm tired of sloppy anti-cheat updates that mess with things that they shouldn't.

No, It's not reWASD, DS4Windows or AutoHotKey. I don't have ANYTHING external. Plain keyboard and mouse.

No, it's not. You're so far the only one to respond. Yay.

Assuming you have the same problem, I managed to fix it by turning off the Calculator and something called Game Bar over the task manager. I have to do this every single time.

No help from anyone, of course. Great customer support for breaking their own game.

  • @cnsnnt  Apologies for being late.

For the calculator and Game Bar, these shouldn't be interfering with Apex. Since they are, try resetting (or repairing) both of these apps and make sure both of these apps aren't automatically running when the PC starts up.

    To reinstall/repair a Windows app:

    - Open the search bar and type in the app's name.

    - Right click and select, "App Settings".

    - Scroll down the app's settings page until you find the option to reset and repair, and select the one or both options.

To turn off most startup apps:

    - Open the search bar and type "startup apps"

    - Select the settings option that appears

    - Turn off the app that you don't want starting up

If the app isn't listed, check in the settings within the app itself.

Note: The Game Bar is part of the Xbox app that every Windows PC has installed.

Considering that these programs aren't preventing Apex from running on my PC, you might have corrupted system files, (which can happen for no real reason).

    To repair your system's files:

    - Open the Command Prompt in administrator mode

    - Type, "DISM /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth" (without the quotes), and wait for it to finish.

Note: DISM stands for "Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool". It often repairs Microsoft related files, such as issues with Window apps. Some problems with the next file checker can only be fixed after running this one first.

    - Now type, "sfc /scannow" (without the quotes), and wait for it to finish.

Note: sfc stands for "System File Checker". This one will repair system files, (such as important Windows drivers).

    - Lastly, restart your PC.

For a similar error, (Error Code 0x8000001), others had said that the following fixes had helped them:

    - Changing your graphics settings in the system settings:

Windows Settings > System > Display > Graphics > Change Apex Legends' graphics.

Note: If you use the AMD Adrenalin software, try reinstalling the program as well.

I Tried all of that still not working but I think it's a specific software or program that eac has falsely flagged.
