Re: Fuse is a dud

@Swarth2300my theory is fuse passive tactical and ultimate are to separate you or your team mate from the enemy. and thats all like a fireworks gibraltar shield.

then if the enemy is cornered you can use fuse offensively spamming grenades or ultimate into trapped enemy.

the fact that fuse has to farm for grenades to use his passive is a huge nerf because the passive is like a gibralter shield dome.

  • @gg123xyzthat is a good point, i mean its only been a few days so maybe i am too focused on the damage aspect and that isnt the main part of the tactical, its an ability that can create chaos so maybe that is where its real value lies, dont get me wrong i enjoy using it just wishing for a tiny bit more damage(not a huge amount) i'll try to see it like a gibby shield in that sense and see how that goes

EDIT: maybe instead of more damage fuse is immune to damage from his own tactical

  • 100 kills now with Fusey.

He's a lot more tactical than you think. I've raised two downed TMs a few times now safely after using the ult as a shield.

Max damage so far with an ult/tactical/nade spam attack is 700. A squad were at a replicator just outside bunker. That was fun.

The only complaint I have is that TMs don't really they can run through his ult.

Don't get yer budgie smugglers in a twist!

A bit of a necro-thread but last night I passed 1,700 kills and 90 wins with my Aussie boy, and my S9 KDr is 2.13.

I honestly don't get the hate the Apex community have for him. I'm doing really, really well with him and the double KC is a real buff. I am fiendishly accurate with it and would say around 20 percent of my knocks involve a KC hit. Thanks to watching ShivFPS (although of course he's a Bang main) I'm picking up a lot more grenades and as soon as I see enemies I am launching nades before engaging and chucking in a KC or two as we approach. It does genuinely cause mayhem and confusion and starts fights with an advantage.

The best thing about being a (the only?) Fuse main is the groans I hear on the selection screen when I pick him, and then the whistles when my stats and badges come up 🙂

@EdwardDLuffy Doesn't surprise me. I find him a lot easier to get damage with especially when 3rd partying. No more Rev main? 😭 Nice KD tho.

@Swarth2300 pretty much. Stops you ult-ing yourself and would make it easier to push.

I would've liked the ult to be harder to get out of. Too many times I've seen people vault over it like it's nothing.

@Lord_Scorpion34 Yeah there was a discussion about this on Twitter yesterday. Fuse is king early game when everyone has low shields, but once people move beyond blue his abilities (aside from the nade launcher) are worthless. Several times I've had 3-4 kills early game and then have not added to them even if I play for another 10-15 minutes. When I was maining Rev my kills were much more consistent.

He comes good again when it gets down to the final 2/3 squads and everyone starts taking cover. A double KC and a nade will send most enemies out from where they are hiding.

I had a game on Olympus yday where my squad got stuck high close to a respawn point as multiple battles waged on around us. I did 1,100 damage without firing a single shot including - a real rarity - a motherload elimination (the enemy had a choice of staying where they were and dying or risk running through it, which they did ... and died).

I'd still like his Ult to be less pants, but I think he's in a decent place.

@EdwardDLuffy Dont tell too many people you did that damage without shooting or soon Fuse will get the caustic treatment. That was what all the whiners complained about- damage without shooting.
  • @hayhor Heh, there do are similarities with caustic. Like there are tryhards that enter in gas and shoot you anyway, there are also tryhards that push my fuse directly through my strategically places crackers to distract them!
  • @hayhor But that's the point of an explosives expert. To do damage lol. If anything he doesn't do enough damage lol.

i had a good one yesterday. After reviving Octane in Fragment he was trailing me and lost a 1v1 on the railtrack. I dumped the motherload on the enemy (Mirage) and ... they just ran though it. Fortunately I had a Bocek and one-shot them. Is there really any point in an ult that no one is even mildly scared of?

A little later I perfectly enclosed an enemy in the ult ... but they were Horizon and they just dropped a gravity lift and got out of there, zero effect.

Ults (IMO) have to be balanced with other abilities, so I kind of think Fuse is okay where he is given my deadly-eyed prowess with the KC and nade launcher. I think there are worst Ults (LL, Valk, Wattson) but there are much better ones (BH, Mirage, Loba). It's tough - maybe increase the damage of the ML and increase the cooldown time?
