Re: Name a few popular FPS titles that has very few cheaters

Take a look at Rainbow6:Siege which is a very popular game and still growing.

I'm playing it since closed alpha and since then they improved a lot with anticheat.

The early days in alpha/beta devs didn't want to listen that we need better anticheat and once the game released it got hit hard by cheaters just like apex because every 14 year old kid could easily programm a cheat that bypasses poor anticheat (same like in Apex right now).

When the playbase took a huge drop devs started to listen and implemented Fairfight and Battleeye together which resulted after some weeks of data collecting in an incredible huge banwave (even some ProGamer from ESL got banned who cheated with a second monitor).

Since then the playbase started to grow realy huge so the game became actually one of the most successfull tactical FPS shooter with huge payouts on tournaments.

There are still some cheaters, like in every game.... But you rarely meet them if myou meet any at all(only in highranked games sometimes) but they get banned fast and on top of it their name gets public announced ingame .... Basicly Name&Shame.

Some devs actually are even in some "invite only" hacker groups to have a look at their code.... And this way they could ban hundreds of private cheat users some weeks ago.

By the way..... It was EAC back then, that failed to stop cheaters.

Thank you so much for this input.

So do you think Rainbow6:Siege's success against cheaters was related to the non-F2P nature ?

Nope... Because people didn't care since you could get a key for 2,50$ usually sold by the same sites that sold cheats.

It was more their proactive approach at the end once they realized something needs to be done.

Their new anticheat tools automaticly flag people if something seems off like behavior patterns (too often pointing at walls or checking them where an ebemy is behind even there was no camera or drone use for example), takes screenshots if you got flagged and automaticly bans people who act too obvious, had ESP in their screenshot or did a mistake with their battleeye bypass (which isn't an easy task... That's why you don't get any public cheats for it only privat ones. The remaining publics are scams).

Additional they managed to get some smurf into the big private cheat sellers.

Basicly they don't wait for reports over reports and videoevidence, etc (what they did the first year, just like apex), they're very activ at fighting these people.... Because it's the only way to keep the cheater amount at a Minimum. Waiting for reports wont help at all
