@BaldWraithSimp in theory it sounds great, in practice, maybe not so.
A big criticism that's popped up in every season of Apex is that loot is sometimes the cruelest mistress. There's also criticism that there's simply too much junk floating about, and the loot pool should be trimmed down to ensure that players can get at least a bodyshield and a weapon no matter where you drop. With those two things in mind, now we have multiple problems.
1. If it's an item you pick up, that's more crap in the loot pool, and depending on it's rarity, might mean no matter where you drop, you're gonna have more crafting parts than actual gear.
2. If it's contract based like Warzone, the chances of being hunted down by people who have significantly better gear than you increase. Warzone balances this out by giving everyone equal access to their best weapons off the bat through money pickups turned into loadout drops, or simply weapons found on the ground that just work. Apex? Eh, not so much. We've all fought purple armored Wraiths with a p2020 while they have an actual gun.
3. If it's an item you pick up, players might be more be more inclined to run through every unlooted area simply looking for crafting parts and gear just so they can supplement what they don't have at a station.
4. If it's an item you share, well, now your whiny teammates have something else to cry about.
ETC. ETC. We've yet to see the system in practice. I'm hoping that it does well and doesn't cause too many problems, but we'll see.
