Re: *Snip* gets only temp banned for abusing speedhack glitch for 2 days

@RevMainPls Taking advantage of glitches/bugs should be against rules and is bannable in most games. As i know there was cases where players got banned for exploits, but i'm not sure if ban was permanent or temp.

From what i saw in video he was basically speed hacking with this bug and he killed other players = he was taking advantage of glitches/bugs.

If other players got permanent ban for exploits, then taxi2g should get ban too. In his case it's even worse, since he did it on stream = so many kids saw what he was doing and most likely tried to do same thing in game.

He deserves ban? Yes.
Permanent? Maybe no, but i would give him a solid month and final warning since he is using exploits all the time.

  • Technically he’s cheating. These are the terms and conditions that you agree to follow when you play the game. Exploits are considered cheating in this game. Taxi should’ve been grateful that they lowered the ban from a perma ban to a suspension.

    I think some of the people here missed the mark why this is an issue. I really don’t care about what happens to Taxi or any other streamer. The issue is that Respawn should have no special treatment when implementing their rules on players whether you’re just a guy in your living room or a huge streamer with thousands of people watching you.  It’s easy to say that you couldn’t care less but when a popular streamer does this and everyone does and copies the exploit, I’m pretty sure you’ll be pissed too. I’m lucky that I didn’t experience the infinite Rampage charge exploit since I’m on console but I can imagine that can be very annoying.

    @Cheese9Man For me the issue is we don't know what is full ban worthy and what is 3 days or a month or more. Seems really open to allow whatever is felt at that time.

    @pandareno1999 That was a nice read. I agree with Hayhor and Ottr that this should have been communicated better regarding bans. I still hate that most updates or info about the game is not tweeted through Respawn’s main twitter account but rather through 5 or more devs tweeting through their personal accounts.

    - Respawn’s communication recently has been better but there’s still a lot of room for improvement. Stop disseminating info via 15 personal dev twitter accounts.
    - Taxi played with fire and he got burned. He knew what he was doing.

    @pandareno1999 I enjoyed the tldr 🤣

    Also had no idea they outlawed punch boosting in algs. Very surprising as I don't find that any different than a wall bounce or tap strafe.
  • @hayhor What is banned specifically is "repeated" punch boosting. It seems clear what they don't want is teams without a mobility character making rotations at unnatural velocity. But there is little terrain on WE where punch boosting can be of much use in rotations compared to SP.

    The mechanic fits naturally within the game's core movement mechanics, has plenty of combat utility (just like wall bouncing) for gaining some quick velocity and momentum shifts to escape or chase, and that has not been removed with this ban.

    @pandareno1999 Ok seems odd they called it out. As you say on the only map they play it isn't as useful, though I've seen players use it instead of wallbouncing.

    Taxi got unbanned today after a month. He even did the speed boost glitch/bug again in the firing range and gave the middle finger right after doing it probably directed towards his haters and Respawn. 😄
