@CocoaHyena they did not remove the option to key bind mousewheel yet, to be honest I doubt they will. They never had the option to keybind tap strafe, if you're not in steam ( to some effect) or use macros. Still if they remove mousewheel youll just see people move away from origin launcher to steam so they can do it anyway. This is most likely one of the things they found amongst the fact that doing it in a fashion where you would actually deny tap strafing on all platforms had big side effects on the core movement mechanics in the game so they didnt remove it and I doubt they will.

Some of the best players out there dont use tap strafe even if they are mnk, so I dont really get what all the fuzz is about this movement. Ye MnK can tapstrafe, consoles can aim assist not everything is everywhere. If you have issues with tapstrafing as a controller player, learn how to CQC and utilize aimassist to the fullest. Same if youre a MnK and cant be arsed learning the tap strafe, dont. In the end it wont help you that much, the supirior aim will always trumph every movement tech, but knowing how its done and what is possible is just a general aid to counter it with that supirior aim again.

What I find tap strafe can help with is escaping or chasing where you can keep speed higher more consistently, but for the general fight not so much. I'll say it again, a very well executed strafe is much harder to hit then tap strafe.
