Re: The nerf this, buff that threads..

@DarthValtrex I think the issue is you get people who for example have maybe one weapon they love and use it at a disadvantaged situation and get upset that another weapon is toasting them.

I think they have maybe a poor interpretation of range and what distances weapons should excel at.

@1ronKeys Agreed.. That's not to say you can't make some weapons work in ranges they were not intended for. I do it all the time when I come across lower skilled players. I'll pull out my longbow and use it in CQC against them.

One thing I have noticed, Pathfinders seem to love running duel CQC load outs. I think they do this because of the grapple. It's really easy for them to close the gap and make almost every fight they get into a CQC engagement. I actually target the pathfinders first now. Sooner they are out of the fight the better.

I'm on the fence about the R-99 needing a nerf. I have been melted by it at range by highly skilled players. I had a G7 or R-301 and should have had the advantage with the distance involved. But the top players have become so adept at recoil control, that they can fire the R-99 as though it has no recoil. Thus using it at ranges that the R-99 should be ineffective. But does that mean the gun needs a nerf? I'm not so sure, I'm fairly confident they still would have won the fight no matter what gun they had.

@DarthValtrex Personally I think If they upped the damage of the Alternator and made it more competitive with the R99 and Prowler than it would add a bit more variation to the SMG class.
