The common strategy used in Master and Pred lobbies is to intentionally land with a team or two to ensure KP early. Once KP is earned, there is a heavy emphasis on positioning; playing edge of ring very conservatively at this point is common.
Like most competitive activities, small mistakes at the high level means failure. In Apex, a small mistake will usually result in you getting melted, lol. Because of the strong focus on not making a mistake, these lobbies tend to play slow (as most teams are trying to be conservative).
Advice on improving:
Even though Silver, Gold, and Plat lobbies allow you to make mistakes, force yourself to play as if one mistake equals disaster. You’ll find yourself surviving far longer. Overall, this isn’t terribly fun (to me), but it does work.
