Re: what is a good average damage per game number?

I think generally in this season players are going to see higher damage numbers and a Lower K/D ratio down to the fact that sniping is more prevalent in this map, playing Ranked also encourages a more defensive play style with higher damage numbers.

I'd say if you're getting anywhere between 200 - 500 damage per game, you're doing fine!

In the grand scheme of things, as a general rule of thumb, if the entire team is doing below 500 damage, you aren’t winning games.

Opposite side of the spectrum, I have won games with zero kills, but again, typically, you’ll need more damage/kills from the entire team, or carried by teammates, to win.

With a full team, start to finish, I’m usually above 1000.

Anything below 1000, if not carried by good teammates, I don’t win games.

On average, regardless of winning, or being downed from the get go, I'm probably in between 500 and 1000 (but that's an average of all my games, cause that's what you asked).

An average is probably quite deceiving, hence why I specified my average per winning games.

It would be awesome to get 1000 damage per person, but realistically you just need to beat the last team. I've played so many games where we don't see anyone except the last two squads. Honestly there are too many scenarios to answer the original question lol. For example, I soak everybody's damage... I'm literally a bullet magnet no matter who I play with. Am I great? Absolutely not. Would I like to blame my controller and older hands? Yes. But the point is, I have to add value to my team in more ways than just shooting and getting kills. I carry an obscene amount of meds every game. I'm always going for revives and respawns. Basically I play support haha. But I think that's the issue with this game in the first place... People treat it like TDM but it's a BR - LAST. TEAM. STANDING. But maybe I'm the only one who plays it the way it's meant to be played? /shrug

  • @Cabowse Hmm, at the beginning of Season 3, I got around 1k by using the initial version of the Charge Rifle. But my top damage games (1.3-1.8k) were Flatline + R301 or R99.

My average is around 312. I'd say 400+ is the value from where you start to actually feel involved in the match. 500-750 gives your wins a good taste, while 1K+ feels satisfying even if you don't win.

Did some snooping around pros discussing this topic... Seems like there's the golden rule of 1000 dmg./5 kills average in 100 games... Which means ~500 dmg./2-3 kills average per game is "good".

  • @EryxApex  it literally all depends on whether you're playing purely for kills or damage output i guess.

I go for the latter, constantly harassing distant squads with snipers to wear them down. If i get the kills that's just an added bonus. My damage never tallies up with my kills, i'll happily let me teammates take the kill glory.

I just find it makes the wins much easier personally.
