Reporting works.
I reported a player in game for Cheating on Friday the 27th of December and on the 29th I got a thank you e-mail from EA for helping them to take action in order to keep the game fair.
So yes, reporting does work.
- @Asmodeus566 Lmao. I reported people day after day after day. Not one response ever. We all get to watch the kill cam. It's clearly obvious when someone is cheating and reporting does nothing. Why don't you mention what the person did that got them investigated? They offer things like, impossible recoil. Which every person playing does. Impossible movement, which some people are aware of "super glide", "wall bounce" and "super jump" all which are obvious when watching a kill cam. All of which, when reported, nothing happens.
"I reported people day after day after day"
I rarely report other players and only when I have a real strong belief and or it is blatant.
I usually also get a positive response back from EA that they have taken action, sometimes I get an answer back that no action was taken.
So at least from my perspective reporting works.
I rarely reported people, only for very obvious cheats and verbal abuse etc. I only got the email "thank you we took no actions". Apparently they have 0 tolerance if you say anything bad about the company and its employees but towards their consumers/customers you can treat them however you want, APPARENTLY.

@apexskinsblowYeah, me too. I report about 2 or 3 per day, and I only report the obvious cheaters, there's many others I don't report that I'm pretty sure are cheating somehow, but could have done it the legit way if they are on the same level as algs players or something and practice a lot, so I try to err on the side of caution and give them the benefit of the doubt.
One that I reported recently was on a hot drop where the lava is in a circle with the tower in the middle. I was peeking behind a loot bin on the ground and someone from all the way on the other side of the complex knocked me with a headshot with a wingman. I mean, you're lucky to get a headshot with a wingman at point blank range against a still firing range dummy, much less a player so far away he looks like a dot on the screen and is strafing back and forth. It was an obvious aimbot. So, I reported it.
I've only heard back from one report and it was to tell me they were taking no action against a player that kept insulting me through 2 matches. I think they only take action for chats if hate speech is used though, but not for regular insults. - Wargasmatron7 months agoNew Vanguard
The reporting system works for you, probably because of your status 🙂
The useless eater minions don't get preferential treatment.
No this has nothing to do with my status.
Because as far as the game goes my status is the same as everyone else.

@Asmodeus566 I just played a match with a squad mate who dropped 19 kills. Cant say his name because that's "shaming "or whatever ridiculous woke policy that entails.
I followed the guy around, watching him 1 tap everyone who came near him. It was so ridiculous. He knew where they were, where to approach from, when to push when their backs were turned or not looking. Not even trying to hide it, that's the thing. Ran to every fight and just obliterated everyone.
I reported it and doubt very much Ill get an email saying thanx lol.

The Name and Shame policy has nothing to do with "wokeness", rather it's just there to help prevent witch hunts. Otherwise, we have situations where anyone can just pop up on the forums and say, "Hey, @Wargasmatron was cheating in my game, why aren't they banned?"
And from there, as no one here on the forums would be able to verify that claim, we get people harassing them just because someone's pointed a finger. Even if you're 100% sure someone is cheating, naming them on the forums does nothing because no one here is able to ban or suspend an account.
So really, that would just give us the worst of both outcomes - actual cheaters don't get actioned from forum posts, and those that get falsely accused just end up getting harassed and defamed inappropriately. It may be a little cathartic to post someone's name, but it does nothing to actually address the problem.
By sending in an actual report, whether in-game or through this form if you have videos/screenshots/any other evidence to add, the team that's actually able to verify that activity with our records and tools will be able to take a look at the situation.
Does that always guarantee a ban? No, that will depend on what we're able to verify with our investigation. Sometimes the team will use those to get more information about how a cheat works to do a ban wave down the road and give cheaters less of an opportunity to adjust to the actions we're taking behind the scenes. Sometimes it's an open and shut case and a ban's issued (more often than you might think). And sometimes, a player was just having a really good game.
Thank you for reporting that player. Regardless of the outcome that helps refine our tools and methods just that little bit more and is always greatly appreciated.

@EA_Mako Now that's a good response. Thorough and to the point. Thanx for that, I do agree with you on "most " of it, which I wont discuss here and cause this thread to be locked.
The Link to "this form" for reporting is one I have never seen before , nor did I know it even existed. I am unable to find it anywhere after much searching through my account settings, help etc.
I think that is a much better approach then the in game reporting as I usually always have OBS running to record my matches. lol, I actually review my play to see how badly I may have played a situation or in cases like this guys 19 bomb, it can provide solid evidence.
Thanx for providing that as well as the other link to the ban counts for June /July 2024 - 200,000 bans in a month is a staggering number. Over 6 million banned accounts since 2019 and 100,000 monthly ...yikes. Just goes to show you how many times you'd likely run into a cheater while playing. I realize they cant tell us all that goes on behind the scenes but I believe even more robust measures need to be implemented outside of just banning accounts, and legally go after hack web sites and players actively promoting hacking.
Cheers
I can't Express this enough. WE ALL GET TO WATCH CHEATERS ON THE KILL CAM. There is no hiding it. Yet reporting using the correct method, i.e. "impossible recoil" ,"impossible movement","gameplay exploit","smurfing" does absolutely nothing. I've reported so many players that i watch on kill cam and nothing ever happens. Yet i get banned when posting evidence of a player's name and tag who is a cronus zen user straight from their discord. It's not hard to get onto their discord and see photos and videos of them creating. They take pride in it.

They don't even keep voice chat records, and you think they keep video records of the entire game?
If, based on statistics alone, it doesn't appear that you have an aimbot, you won't get banned. Likewise, if the wallhack is not detected by anti-cheat (usually anti-cheat doesn't detect anything), you won't get a ban for it either, because it doesn't have to record a video.
Apex only bans if the statistics show that you used an aimhack or text chat. For other things they are not able to actually check it.
It's sad because it's a game that's over 5 years old... 🙂
Well, I'm sorry, but wallhacks or scripts that reduce recoil + impossible movement are not detected in the statistics. Until the anti-cheat starts blocking ALL background programs when starting the game, nothing will ever be done about it.
I have a recorded video clip. I post it in another topic. Then it got deleted. 🙂 (I feel a censorship here)
I follow their link about how to report player. Only the in-game report is practically convenient to be done.Another channel it is not easy to figure it out. (I try to read and find, but didn't success yet. As a Steam player. That channel they suggest is only could be done on EA launcher).
I want to know also which method @Asmodeus566 use to report that could get a feedback from EA like that?
I used the in game report feature.
See my first post on this thread as I specifically mentioned that.
