Re: What's your take on Conduit?

@reconzeroI think Conduit is pretty decent. The temporary shields Tactical is good, her Passive is very helpful (especially for newer players who lose track of their teammates a lot), and the Ultimate can be really good when used in the right situation.

What ability set haven't they done enough with yet? All of them are based on some aspect of or activity in the game - weapons, ordinance, movement, vision, looting, healing, shields, etc. I'm personally struggling with new ideas at this point with 25 legends already in the game. Just not sure what they're going to come up with.

You're right, of course. Maybe the answer isn't some new idea, of which there aren't any. Maybe the answer is that we've got too many legends and need to pare back. Which can't happen because $$$. I guess that, as a play who isn't interested in playing any new legends, I'm left constantly trying to figure out how the next new one is trying to screw me over. It's tiring. But that's on me, not on the dev.

@HappyHourSumwur Impossible for a kit to be 100% original at this point for apex imo. Personally want a subtle territory based recon "closest to this is planting Crypto drone on a wall - not always effective, or Seer ult - too third party inviting" but I think Seer made devs too afraid of making a general recon instead of slapping it into a passive, almost anticipating Gibby rework to give his ult a scan.

Edit: scratch the first part a bit, I remember a leaked character named digger "maybe thats the name" that could potentially breach areas with portals though a wall - for the many complaints I seen about camping, devs have down a poor job of making a dedicated breacher character "brought this up awhile back when devs turned Husara kit into Mad Maggie, that season also had me stop watching apex youtubers over their copium of why wondering her kit was bad."

@reconzero The only thing I can think of is element based abilities like fire or cold. That's about as far as I get though.

@reconzero There are always things to mess around with. Or at least there are more things to explore. I am def' one of those who found it very boring to have a season with no new legend. The addition of legends, guns and maps/map changes is what keeps the game going for me.

I have suggested multiple times to get som more guns in and then having them rotate in availability over the seasons depending on maps. This to not make to lootpool too large. You could even have players affect this via some lore stuff but that is extra.

Funny. I keep going despite these things which I often find far more frustrating than interesting. Go figure people.

@reconzero So if the games stagnates completely will you like it?
While I get frustrated too, it is often due to things working poorly. New stuff isn't necessarily always progress in "the right direction" (noone should ever come back with red shields...sigh). New stuff does offer new ways to combine and experience the game tho.

A game that does not att or remove gets boring pretty quick unless it is perfect, which no game will likelye ever be.

What I don't care for is when there is very little change in balance. With a couple exceptions, this season provides very little change over the last for the average player. But I'm finding the matchmaking improved, so I'm enjoying it nonetheless.  I don't absolutely require a bunch of new content, but it sure does help.  The latest weapon (Nemesis) and legend (Conduit) additions have both been very compelling IMO.

Starting to enjoy her more and more tbh. The people who play her well are a big help to me as Wraith, when I'm out doing Wraithy things in TDM and Gun Run. She might be my newest favy teammate since Loba (on BR).

@pandareno1999I'm still waiting for the Energy pistol! I'm thinking something that could counter the Wingman with a little less damage but a higher fire rate.

@DrWizardoif her ult is placed well it can def cause problems for you especially if used while pushing. It'll be interesting to see how people who decide to Main/Master her use her & some of the team combos used with her.

@pandareno1999 Good point. If it feels new that does help. I am looking forward to the potential "augment system" like in fortnite. Hopefully they'll do something interesting.
I'd also like if they added more badges to be honest, that should be quite simple.

When it come to legends, weapons and items I get that it might be hard to not overlap existing things, but I think it makes the most impact so far.

@Lord_Scorpion34 Watched people playing her, Newcastle and Lifeline in the three strikes mode, seemed VERY strong.
Her ult is almost like some hybrid of fences and Valkyries tactical. Although it is fairly slow to deploy.

I think EA and Respawn have released Conduit to change the current meta. That's why I'm positive about Conduit.(Of course, if she's on the enemy team, her ULT is annoying.)

And there are opinions among the pros that her performance is still ambiguous, so I hope she can be studied a little more.

Plus I still remember that shock and horror when Seer was released before, so I don't think her performance is the performance that will shake the game.

I'm rather hoping that the meta of the game will become more diverse with a new legend, so I'm welcoming the release of Conduit, and I hope that more diverse legends will be released!

@DrWizardo She's awesome to have as a teammate in 3 strikes because this means you can keep pushing and finish the other team.

"So if the games stagnates completely will you like it?"

I guess what I mean is that it isn't the new legends or weapons or even maps that make the game interesting for me, and their absence isn't what would cause stagnation. For me.

For me the most interesting aspect of the game is player behavior. My own teammates are the players I get to observe most closely, but enemies are almost as interesting. And they all keep surprising me in virtually every match I play. Even after 25k matches. Sometimes they surprise with the idiocy of their antics, sometimes with their borderline pro-level gameplay, sometimes with their attitudes, both good and bad. All the other stuff in the game is just something new to learn (or learn to deal with) when I feel like I could easily double my current match count and still not have mastered the basics. So new stuff doesn't really help me as much as it gets in the way.

Not saying everything was already perfect. Just that sometimes change is just change for its own sake. Like most of the newer legends. They all feel to me like devices to encourage new purchases rather than worthwhile additions to gameplay. Even the rare new maps. One may look different than the last, but they all play more or less the same no matter what some people say about newer maps playing slower because they're too big.

    Sorry for the ramble.

@reconzero I get what you mean. I do appreciate quality, and as the meta changes and players evolve trends and knowledge spread to make new combos of already existing features. Personally I just don't see that as something that will stop happening if you keep experimenting with new legends and map features.

Lets say you have a map on an asteroid and periodically it passes through higher and lower gravity. Other maps may have "collectors" that sweep around outside the ring to pick up and drop of people that camp in the ring and send them to an arena. Yet another may have portals that you can pick from a set of end locations, while the last has a focus on vehicles or natural disasters.

Anyway, this is off topic so I'll stop here.
