Re: Why is arena so unrewarding for solos?

@Asmodeus566thanks man. i just lost 10 out of 10 in arenas with damage twice as high as my teammates 🙂 this is truly a piece of garbage 🙂

Like I said before, I agree and it needs to get fixed.

I had a 11 kill 3K+damage game and lost because my teammates amounted to a total of 3 kills and less than 1k damage between them. lost 30 something AP.

I can only carry so much, in fact i am tired of performing so well and losing RP because the other players might as well be shooting blanks. 

@Revanchist_KR lol.  How do you think I feel?  I'm usually the guy with the least damage and kills.  It doesn't feel great being on that end either.

been there done that and it does not feel good either. 

Mowing down bots = win but also = no fun.

Getting slayed by preds in seconds also = no fun.

a good back and forth game with all players on both sides playing them game well = fun, whether I lose or win. 

That matchmaking and AP system needs a re-work even if it "Is working as intended"  as some people like to point out.

It looks like we are getting a balance in Ranked Arena's after all. See notes below:

RANKED ARENAS - ESCAPE

We learned a lot from the first season of Ranked arenas and are eager to bring you some improvements:

• Arenas Ranked now has 2 splits, similar to Ranked Battle Royale
• Along with each new season and split, there is a soft MMR reset and new placement matches.  New seasons require the usual 10 placement matches while a new split only requires 5 placement matches.
• Improvements have been made to matchmaking for finding similarly skilled teammates.
• Reduced the AP amount gained or lost from MMR differences between teams.

DEV NOTE:The final calculated AP amount for a match is a factor of your current AP and MMR.  It’s also influenced by the MMR differences between teams. In practice, this difference was factoring in more than we wanted. I.e. Losing a match you were slightly favored to win was giving a bigger AP loss than desired.

Hopefully this will alleviate a lot of things. We will see.

AS far as solo and premade's playing against each other well there is this thing called MMR. Also if you play solo and end up with two players that are playing together (partial premade) on your team how would you know if they are not in the same club or a club at all. In this case I think playing vs a full premade sqd is fine.

@Asmodeus566I wonder if they queue will be faster with the new season. Since the start of ranked arena I never touched it bc it's more frustating than pubs and I only play arena pubs to generelly warm up (+ for ranked).

@Revanchist_KR I think it's just broken match making overall.  My avg damage/kd per season over the last 4 - 5 seasons has consistently GONE DOWN every season as opposed to going up from day 1 (as a day 1 player my stats were always getting better than around season 5 or 6... boom down they have gone ever since).  Either I'm getting worse or i am getting ranked against better and better players which isn't really right.  Been happening for ages.

I haven't bothered with ranked since the season it was "a thing".  I just don't see the point.  The "leave early" penalty put me off as I should have every right to ditch toxic team mates.

It's only been in the last month or two I've detected a noticeable improvement in my gameplay (probably thanks to playing with some friends who play *WAY* above my ability level - even when I'm down and watching through their eyes I learn tons).
