@Lord_Scorpion34 I'm not sure how not moving in the first minute is any different to not moving for a minute later in the match, as it seems its impossible for the system to determine which is an afk, a dc for points gain, or server dc followed by attempts to reconnect?

If someone was to get penalised for being afk for the first minute, then the easy way round that is to dive off map at the start of the game. Why they would go afk in the first minute deliberately is beyond me. Why even play the game if you are only going to live vicariously? Surely that isn't a serious way to progress in ranked. 

Although the same could be said of 2 squad members dc immediately in the jumpship in pubs! Why do they play the game at all??

Same should go for anyone who goes inactive during a match without trying to get into a safe spot 1st. If you died while away you're done. The game already penalizes you now for AFK/AFC. Issue is the time the game takes to recognize that is like a week long! It needs to be shorter. 60-120 seconds without any input from the player. The game is too fast paced for a 5min AFK time.

To be honest I have no issues with this. Im not saying im using the stuff above, but sometimes life butts in (for instance my daughter comes running in and claiming world is over because one of her earrings almost fell out, then I might need a minute to secure it again to get peace to continue) and with the current state of ranked without having the ridealong possibility you get a huge smack in the face because of things out of your personal control, worst is when hardware or system mess you up but family or other players can too. Normally if someone mess me up by landing silly, unlucky loot situation so I die early or my own stupidity I inspect til im close to 0 or 0 RP and then quit if im not spawned, but I have no issue with ridealongers as long as they dont start trashtalking then I take my time to file a report. I dont like people who intentionally disrupt my game, those I report (again options to do that too) and if you are a repeat offender you get smacked hard at some point by respawn/ea.

I get your anger, but use the report function (fairly ofc) - It seems to be taken more and more serious these days by ea/respawn and the true offenders get poked not the average joe just trying to get some game time in between. If you shoot joe out of ranked there would be no ranked for people over 18 since their lives have interruptions proportional with their rise in age, my real life escape is movies and gaming, and for me gaming needs to be competitive if I do pvp or its of no interest really but well I have a family and sometimes I get smacked by reality. I do however play premade team so you wont be bugged by me and my life hehe, but I do believe there are many poor suckers like me just trying to get some escape out there living for the ranked mode.

I see your point @Lord_Scorpion34 , but still one of the main things I found when having a family is. I can plan and dedicate as much as I want but my daughter will, over and over again ruin my plans, and it will always be a world ending situation at hand coming at the worst ever moment (per murphy). I'm not saying that it happens every time but it happens. Had a moment in pubs in duos where it happened, we just cleared a building in fragment and boom, I had to run, got back before I died and we ended up winning the round but at any rate life happens, and most of the time in the worst possible time. If the game did not have the options it has right now, there is a lot of people that could not play ranked anylonger as it would be no point at all in the current smurfy state of the game.
