Repair lobby building

I really enjoyed your game once but now I can’t play a game without being destroyed by predators and masters in pub matches when I never could get past diamond 4 i don’t care if a game takes an extra minute or two to start if it means finding lobbies that I can last more than 30 seconds in

  • I just started playing this in April.  You honestly can't last more than 30 seconds? I thought I was a horrible shot. Well here is my newbie advice for you;

    1. Drop when there is less than 20 people in the ship. Early drop is quick death.
    2. Land on the edges of the map not the center.
    3. Take your sweet time to loot even after ring closing is announced.
    4. Last minute grab a car, balloon, or just run to the next ring.
    5. Play to the character's skill set.
    6. Play with people you know personally.

    Practice in the firing range.  Have fun with it.

  • 30 seconds was an exaggeration. I appreciate the arrogance in your response it’s a good touch for the exact point I’m trying to make. I’ve been playing since the release of the game and I’ve hit a clear plateau to my abilities. But the game continues to rank me up into lobbies well above my ability. I have no one know personally playing the game. The point I’m trying to make is lobbies have a clearly unrealistic basis on their skill based matchmaking for public matches

    Thanks, I am still working on my arrogance, it is getting much better with age.

    I am of the opinion, long waits in lobbies is the software not pulling from a large resource pool.  I expressed it in a feedback thread "Crossplay is not crossplay".  I also noticed picking a non-default server has reduced my wait.  As for lasting in matches,  I am still learning, but when I started in the last month of season 12, there wasn't much resistance.  When season 13 dropped barely 2 weeks ago, my survival rate dropped with it.  I chalk this up to veteran players returning to the game.  These people ( I am told ) will smoke us on the first month and then disappear back into the void until season 14.

    I really don't see any viable software solution for other players being better than I am.  You can try to sort them, but to my understanding there are people who will "smurf" the Hogwarts Sorting Hat.  About the only thing you can do is toss everyone into the meat grinder and hope they figure it out.  Rookie or veteran, there is no advantage given by the software based on your body count.  It is a choice of fight or flee...  I hit the ground running for the nearest supplies and once I am armed, I cover my team.

  • @justalbright26 Master tier + Predator tier + Diamond tiers 3 through 1 = 4.4% of the player base. If you're saying that within that spread the better players can crush the "lesser" Diamond 4 players... then this game has a) way too many cheaters and/or b) way too wide of a skill gap. If you're also saying that all your matches are pitting you against these superior players and that you never get matched against people you can beat, then I'd say SBMM is penalizing you because you D4s are apparently the feeder fish for the better players. That would explain why they are 4.4% and D4 alone is 9.8%. If it wasn't for you guys the elites would probably never even be able to get a match. Anyway, thanks for being the human shield who keeps them away from my matches.
